Another one for trying the cheese scones here. :T

It's really, really, not a good idea to watch The Great British Bake Off  :(
  • Hi all! Another one of 'those' days! Was feeling all positive this morning but the day went to pot. Was gorgeous and sunny so I saddled the kids up for a day out and within 10 minutes of getting into town we got a massive downpour. My car window is stuck down and they can't get the part until next week so it's attractively taped up with a bin bag! I typed out a HUGE response to you all earlier and my toddler came along and kicked the 'off' button on the computer so I lost the lot.

Then I decided my afternoon wouldn't be wasted and I'd do a huge amount of batch cooking to see me through the week and half way through, we had a power cut!! Nibbled my way through a load of contraband this afternoon and now feeling a bit sorry for myself... at least I resisted the urge to go out for a bottle of wine! Ah well, back on the hunt for the wagon tomorrow, map and wellies at the ready!

Well done to all of you who are losing and behaving :-) x

Jerry, keep it up! Theres a train of thought that says that ANYTHING you put in your mouth is better than a cigarette, so don't beat yourself up, get lots of allowed foods racked up in munchable portions in your fridge so you can graze, it really helps. I gave up using the lozenges and they worked well for me, worth considering.

    Hi Jerry

    I've not smoked for < 4months so I know it's possible, well done! :j

I used an electronic cigarette and it made it feel doable.

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)

slipped up last night with a piece of cake but im hoping to be back to lcbing 100% today

you all sound like you are doing really well x
  • Jerry - WELL DONE for doing 24 hours smoke free :-) Have you seen your GP for smoking cessation support - patches, gum and stuff?

Drink loads of water, chew gum - doesn't have to be the nicotine one, and keep your hands busy, I used "worry beads" in the form of a nice beaded bracelet I could slip of and fiddle with at times of craving.

How much cheese in the scones please - or is it just a case of enuff. to keep everything together?

Sistercas - your picture of The Clangers made me go all over nostalgic. That is the first time I have seen them in colour as we has balack and white telly all through the 70's!!

Well, did aerobic last night and managed to avoid eating as much as last Tuesday night afterwards. I must confess to the crime of a bowl of chocolate ice cream and 2 digestives, but that is waaaay better than last week.

Onwards and downwards on carb intake and body fat.

Thanks you to EVERYONE who has posted, you make me smile with your stories and inform me with your experience :-)

Yes Serena, I remember both. I never realised the connotations of the Captain Pugwash though :D

Jerry - 1 day at a time so well done. Mercy has managed 4 months, as she said, and that is really admirable :T

    AudreyHepburn - another day.

sweet - are you feeling any better today?

    sistercas - love the picture

andrewsmum - how much cheese did you use in the scones, did they rise and have you tried one yet?

My grandson loved Button Moon and we had to buy the videos second hand as they were old hat - any takers?
