Can ask what 20g "feels" like please?

I log on myfitnesspal and currently hitting around 120g total carbs a day (that includes at least 30g fibre, which I believe the Atkins diet would subtract from the total?

Personally I find it feels OK as long as you can stick the range of foods allowed. I'm going to go back down to 20g/day when DS2 goes back to school. The tip I would give would be to get inventive with the herbs and spices and remember that while the carb count on curry pastes may be high, the amount you're using results in it being very little of your allowance. I did a lot of scrambled eggs with spinach, mushrooms, thai green curry paste etc.
Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

sarahcmo - low carb cannot also be low calorie as one defeats the other and you will get ill!! If you eat too little then your body goes into starvation mode and losing weight will be much harder. Also switching to low carb for 2 weeks and then changing will not do you or your body any good. My advice would be to decide on one type of diet and then stick with it. Low carb does not have to be boring and, in fact, you can eat lots and still lose weight. From June to September last year I lost nearly 3 stone so I can vouch for it.

Jerry - glad that you are feeling better today :) A belated Happy Birthday. You are right, exercise increases endorphins and you will feel good, a double whammy and much better than wine :D

AudreyHepburn - 20g is doable but hard as it cuts out life's little luxuries. 50g is much easier. All American websites use gross carbs and you subtract the fibre. All English foods already have the fibre deducted on the packaging so you cannot subtract them again. Correct me anyone if I am wrong in this please?

alias - are you an idiot or a pregnant camel then (git)? I eat similar foods each day except for dinner as it is easier but I do have a lot of fish and chicken.

I hope that you are all having a good day xx

thank you for that , i know i have to do something but i thought the 2 weeks kick start would give me the push i needed i have been looking at slimming world but cant see how eating that much can make you loose weight so have dissmissed that one so looking at all the others over the next few weeks . will keep you posted

Jerry, hope you're felling better today and well done on not having a cig :T
The poems did make me chuckle!

Thanks Murphy will check my PMs for the workout.

Saraahmco - yep do lots of research before embarking on a long term plan. I tried traditional low carb but it wasn't for me, but I'm allowed on here :D cos I do clean eating, which is low GI and unprocessed. Kind low carb but with a few tweaks. Works better for me. You need to find what works for you, but being too restrictive like low calorie & low carb at the same time will mess up your system and is not do-able long term. Good luck

Well I've fallen so far off the wagon I can't even see sight of it any more. Do I care? Nope!

Today was TOTM start day and I'm having a bad day! A very bad day!

My car has just been MOT'd today, a month earlier than it was due. I had booked it in today specifically so the anniversary would be acknowledged and my new MOT would run for 13 months.

Only I got the day wrong! It should have been tomorrow! So now the car has to be MOT'd every Aug from now on instead of Sep. I'm flipping annoyed at myself. So I'm eating ice cream! And cake! And I don't care!

    Mood > :(
