Morning all.
Well, I was feeling a bit smug this morning cos I did my 5 press-ups, then OH went and spoilt it all by saying I wasn't doing them properly
He says your chin should touch the floor each time
If I get right downs the floor I can't get back up again, so I just dip about 3 inchesPlease tell me it's doing some good?
I didn't notice him doing him doing any press-ups this morning though
Off to put the bacon on....0 -

Ignore your OH, you're doing just fine“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Hi
Another hot day so have to get the exercise in early. I feel that it is time for me to put my oar in. Stop putting yourselves down as we are human beings, not robots. We are all beautiful people who deserve to be loved and to love ourselves. You can't take control of your eating or exercise unless you love yourself as there will be plenty of people who will try to derail you, usually because your control makes them feel guilty, and you have to be strong. You will trip up sometimes, I do, but then tomorrow is another day to say that I will try today because I love myself and want to be healthier, fitter, slimmer .....
Some days I feel down, don't we all, but if you believe in yourself then anything is possible.
Lecture over
Have a good day and do something that makes you happy. I think that we are programmed to make others happy and put them first but I am slowly learning that if you put yourself first occasionally then you will get more respect. My ex told me this and he is right.

Don't say that
Much more to it than that
I know sweet but it was easier just writing 'greed' than listing all the psychological issues behind it.
This has been a slower week but I've still lost another 2lbs so happy with that.
I wish I could deal with my impatience. I just want it all gone. Now.
I watched a 'biggest loser' thing yesterday and they showed a slide show of a pic of the person at the start then another pic for each weigh in until the last thin pic. Amazing to see it like that. I wish I could just fast forward.
Off shopping today, need a store cupboard of soup things, think that may be a new staple for me. I'm getting fed up with eggs.
Gray...you're moving aren't you?Your muscles are involved in that so they are working and you will be benefiting.
Ditto Chameleon...ignore your OH.Herman - MP for all!0 -
alias - you will get there, if you stick with it. Well done on 2lb in the right direction :T I want to lose another 22lb minimum and it has been very slow going since Christmas but, having lost a lot last year, I am encouraged that it should happen eventually.
Sorry if my earlier post sounds a bit pompous but I have been reading the Idiot Proof's guide and a lot of what they say hits home

If you were Bruce Forsyth it might be easy to get your chin on the floor but you rarely see a press-up done that way!! But that being said a bit than a 3" dip would be more beneficial
Thanks for asking Sheila - had more trials and tribulations this week! We went to our bank a while ago (mention no names but it has 4 letters and begins with H), to get a top up on the mortgage so we can move on and they said no problem. Then after we found the house, got the offer accepted and all the wheels in motion, they decided to say NO.
Not only that, they are now refusing to port our current mortgage! Up s**t creek without a paddle, I think the phrase is. We are livid - as there is no logical explanation - and have put in an official complaint. Luckily the bank we have our current accounts with have no problem at all with giving us a mortgage, so apart from a small delay, we are back on track again - albeit with a more expensive product!!
The survey is monday, no doubt there will be another curve ball in there somewhere.
Hope you all get some sun today0 -
Thanks for the cracker recipes and the exercise tips.
Every time I get lazy or I feel myself slipping and considering eating something I'm not supposed to, life reminds me how much I need to get the finger out.
OH and daughter are off hill climbing. I would have been with them not so long ago but my weight issues and health probs just now mean it wouldn't have been wise to go.
I feel quite left out tbh and very fed up today that my greed has had such an effect on my life.
Not to worry, a wake up call is better late than never.
Btw, how many times a day am I supposed to be doing these push ups?
Are you greedy in other aspects of your life, do you hoard, push for the best place rather than queue? From your posts I very much doubt it, but that's the kind of general behaviour I'd expect if it were simple greed. Do you have a genuine lack of self-control? I don't, I gave up smoking overnight 30 years ago and haven't gone back to it but I couldn't control my food intake for even 24 hours on a typical western diet.
We're the survivors, we have bodies that are finely tuned to survive periods of famine, it's an evolutionary advantage. (At least it would be if we still lived a hunter/gatherer life in tandem with the seasons.) We are responding to what our bodies do automatically, naturally.

Wise words sheila
Murphy - fingers crossed it all works out.
I'm supposed to be looking after guests, not hiding in the study, so I'd better go and be sociable I suppose0 -
