Or find a gym running Les Mills' Body Combat classes :D

PS would love the recipe for almond crackers please :T

Or my P45 (P for power, 45 mins) class :D

I like the first ones best, this time I put 90% almond/10% flax and it worked well.

Meant to say I halve the recipe as they don't keep very long, and they are better fresh; half gets about 9/12 crackers depending on thickness.

These look great, thanks! Crackers are my huge downfall, can't eat cheese without them :D

Thanks for the cracker recipes and the exercise tips. :)

Every time I get lazy or I feel myself slipping and considering eating something I'm not supposed to, life reminds me how much I need to get the finger out.

OH and daughter are off hill climbing. I would have been with them not so long ago but my weight issues and health probs just now mean it wouldn't have been wise to go.

I feel quite left out tbh and very fed up today that my greed has had such an effect on my life. :(

Not to worry, a wake up call is better late than never. :D

Btw, how many times a day am I supposed to be doing these push ups?

    Soup advice needed now. :D

I'm after a low carb broccoli soup recipe and I've been doing some searching.

A lot of them use chicken broth as a base but they don't tell you how to make the broth or exactly what is in it. :o

I expect this is very basic, sorry. :o Help?

Edit: It would seem that a basic chicken broth is just the chicken carcase, boiled. Clearly I'm over thinking things but chicken in water is not what I would call a broth. Oh well.

Ok...Just had my first chlorophyll drink. It looks like dark green ink....or something a squid would squirt at you in a defensive move. :undecided

I've just realised I'm getting mixed up with chlorophyll and chloroform - I was getting a bit concerned you were drinking it :rotfl::rotfl:

Re. the soup, I generally use stock from boiling up a carcass after a roast, but bouillon or stock cubes are ok (I particularly like knorr). I used to recommend using half of the manufacturers recommended amounts because of salt, but it's not a problem when you low carb.

My soup base is generally, celery, onion, garlic, smoked streaky bacon (or pancetta), whatever herbs suit the flavour (and chilli if required). If I make a 'green' soup I'll generally add some cauli as well as it adds extra vits without adding to the colour or taste. Then it's all blitzed and then a good whoosh of double cream goes in plus S & P to taste.

Edit for your edit! The carcass with added veg (onion, carrot, herbs, garlic etc) makes what I would call a broth.

Every other day is ok, but there is no problem every day if you want. As long as you don't feel any muscle soreness, carry on. The more you do, the quicker you will improve, the better you will feel, the more you will want to do. Go for it :T

By the way, if you can do 20 or more wall press-ups you really should progress to floor ones. YES, you CAN do it.

The body is far more capable than the mind thinks it is, so when you think you can't do one more, thats what your mind is telling you, ignore it (unless you are in pain, of course!) and press-on - so to speak.

:rotfl: I managed 20 this morning, but I'm doing it within a narrow doorway to give me more support if I need it as I do tend to be rather wobbly if I overdo things, going over backwards is a specialty of mine. I better book the lifeline call to get me back up from the floor tomorrow :rotfl:

I used the doorway for a while too daska :D A lot of it is in the mind - for me anyway.

Put loads of cushions on the floor tomorrow :rotfl:

I can manage 20 wall press ups but they really make the tops of my arms ache. Am I doing something wrong?

Any news about the house murphydog?

It is interesting that when I had back surgery the physios taught me to turn onto my stomach and push myself off the floor instead of hoisting myself with my arms. I used this method to get out of the bath for a long while so it must use a different group of muscles.

    Still getting bitten: anyone else?

Thanks for the link to the crackers. I have had an urge for crisps today so will try these instead. :)

I hope that everyone manages to get some sleep in this heat :)
