Don't get downhearted alias - we all struggle at times and TOTM is the worst I think. I sooo identify with the peanut butter jar :D Is there anything legal that would satisfy when you're craving? When I want something sweet it helps if I eat something really tasty and savoury - like strong cheese with a pickled onion, or a slice of raw onion. The after taste seems to confuse the brain :rotfl:

It's pouring with rain here too, but really muggy with it.

We have weekend guests arriving later so i'd better go hoover the red carpet I suppose. I'm going to take them out to eat as much as I can so i don't have to stock up with carby things. ;)

    Have a good day everyone

I get easily confused anyway so I'm halfway there. :rotfl: I'll give the cheese and onion thing a go. :D

    I'm back.

I just inspected my arms (as you do :D) and already I've got the floppy skin thing going on. :(

Obviously what weight I'm losing, is coming from there first. Instead of being just all round fat (big but smooth iyswim) I now have looser skin and you can see 'patchy' fat bits if that makes sense?

Kinda like a cellulite effect. I also have some 'swinging' going on. :(

I'm realistic enough to know that being a fat git for so long will have stretched my skin and as I'm hitting *cough* a big age number in the not too distant future my skin wont have the same elasticity so it's unlikely to return to pre fat mode.

Question is....would arm exercises make any difference at this stage or am I destined to be one of those thinner but saggier people? :(

Where's our resident exercise people these days? Have they all left us?

    Hi hun

A few days ago I think there was some talk about wall press ups being v good for bingo wings etc, I've been doing them and can definitely feel the bingo muscle working. I think you should start now as it may work alongside your weight loss rather than waiting to lose weight then starting the exercise.

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)
  • SweetS - hope your daughter thinks things through carefully, and makes the right plan of action.

I get mahoosive TOTM cravings too - kind of go insane, can't sleep, fretting and get horrid fluid retention which I am sure is 99% of the cause of the awful constipation I get.

It is deffo. getting worse - surely menopause related and I am still searching for solutions, I think St. John's wort extract tablets help my moods, and increasing the amount of fat in my diet - but I can still hoover up an entire pack of biscuit on a bad day.

Any offers of help with all this gratefully received, but I am sure that the fewer carbs I eat the less I want them.

Grey - WELL DONE! That is a FANTASTIC result in one year. You have really inspired me to be posting a similar story in 12 months time :-)

    Best wishes to all.

Seconded - keep at it and you'll soon progress to full press ups :-)

The only reason that most women can't do full press ups is coz they are not doing them - chicken and egg situation, if you don't try you won't be able to.

I weight train twice a week and it makes an incredible difference to how I look and feel!

    Hi all!

Glad to report that the 3lb I put on last week due to immobility has left me again this week. :j

Was up at stupid o clock this morn so I've done everything now, including a 40 min walk. :D Shopped for week too. My meal plan worked so well this week I've done it again.

Will be making a large omlet with philly, mussels, chilli and smoked salmon, topped with sliced tomato. This will do me rest of today with rocket salad.

Very grey here though quite warm and muggy. Am drying washing inside by the dehumidifier as it looks like rain again :rotfl:

    Have a lovely weekend!

  • Is anyone doing vegetarian low carbing?
I've only been a veggie 6 weeks, thought I would try it because I was so bloated and feeling ill, so wanted to clean up my diet.
Apparently most veggie life is high carb and I am wheat intolerant (makes me bloated, tired, itchy and feel sick but I love wheat sadly) so wheat substitute breads made me bloat!
Anyway I heard about Rose Elliot and the veggie lo carbing and wanted to try it, not started properly yet but aiming to.
Can I just say I bought some acidophillus tablets and wow what a difference! Within one day my bloatedness, gurgly stomach gassiness (sorry!) had gone. Just wondered if anyone else had found this?
I have realised I will never play the Dane! :(

Where are my medals? Everyone else on here has medals!! :p

Morning everyone. Had a lovely day at the Spa yesterday. The massage was absolutely wonderful! Unfortunately the lunch provided was sandwiches and I succombed. I had a bacon sandwich with salad followed by a caramel shortbread. I also had 2 small glasses of bucks fizz, a glass of strawberry cordial and a chocolate. Not surprisingly I've not lost weight this week but stayed the same (at least I haven't gained). Am back on track this morning and hope to stay so for the rest of the week.

    Oh my. :rotfl:

I got 6[STRIKE]0[/STRIKE] wall press ups in before I started shaking. :rotfl:

I am such an unfit git, I am embarrassed just how unfit I am now. It's hard to believe I was hitting the gym and enjoying it last summer. Not to worry, I'll be doing one finger press ups with the other arm tied behind my back soon. :p:D

Thanks for the link Mercy. x
