Well I've had a very pleasant week with my sons and my father (and DS2's dad for part of it). Lots of good food, wine, cake
etc. I'm not getting on the scales for a few days but what a couple of things are very notable. First is that eating high carb hasn't made me hungry - that is a first! The second is that it hasn't brought on a recurrence of the tingling that used to be a permanent symptom before I went low carb and which previously has returned when I've indulged. Tangible proof that my body is adapting to eating this way on a day to day basis.
Well done on the exam results / uni places gained etc.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Oh I missed that bit. Sorry things didn't go as well as was hoped for sweet, and as disappointing as it may be for her, 'tis not the end of the world so I hope you and DD are not fretting over it.
I've already decided I'm going to pay someone to sit my daughter's exams when the time comes....or bribe an examiner or something. My girl (who I love dearly) is a grade A airhead and forgets her own name at times.
sis...can't you go to bed for the day until the carb thing passes?Herman - MP for all!0 -

:hello: Hi everyone
Not been on for a day or so, and only read back a few pages. Congratulations to everyone who has lost weight, and sorry to those not feeling too well.
Big congratulations to all the exam passes too :T:T:T
I'm coming up to my anniversary in a couple weeks. I started low carbing (half heartedly) in September last year, and went serious at the beginning of October.
Since then I've lost over six inches off my waist, seven inches off my hips and five inches of my bust.
I've not been good all the time either - I drink far too much vodka and diet coke, I have milk in my tea and coffee, and I have the occasional sweet potato and butternut squash.
I haven't had any bread, pasta, rice, potatoes or cakes in nearly a year though, and I honestly don't miss them now.
If I can do it, there's hope for everyone! :rotfl:
I might have a little celebration tonight myself  *opens another bottle of vodka*0 -
Good one.
I have a fish & cauli paella in my stomach.

Gray :T:T thats fantastic well done , it just shows what can be achieved with a bit of perseverance
off to work now but back before lunchtime , need to think what i should have for lunch0 -
Morning all :hello:
Gray, fantastic results from LCing!! :T
I've decided to abstain from drinking for a while - been drinking waaaay too much lately - think my liver needs a rest
Had a good re-read of LC information yesterday & I'm going to do a big shop in the next couple of days & get started again. Probably won't do the fasting though, not yet anyway.
DD seems to have got over the shock of her AS results & has an appointment with the college at the end of the month - just hope the (College drop-out & thinks University is a waste of time) boyfriend doesn't influence things too much.
Ah well, got lots of other [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] 'stuff' to think about...
Hope everyone doing ok :wave:0 -
You've done really well Gray. I'm jealous.
Well nearly 2 weeks in and I'm struggling. TOTM related I think. I had a hard day yesterday and by the time 10pm came I was in a right old mood so I took myself off to bed. After attacking the peanut butter jar with a teaspoon first.(I only had 2 spoons worth though.)
I lay awake for hours though as I was hungry and craving wine and chocolate. I felt as if I ate one more low carb thing I'd be sick! I eventually fell asleep but woke up an hour later! Not having a good time right now. I really really don't want to cave in but I'm worried I do. :undecided
Weather is sunny in most places today apparently but I woke up to big clouds and rain.
'Tis going to be one of these >days today I think.
On the up side, the liquid chlorophyll I ordered online yesterday was dispatched yesterday and hopefully will arrive today. So I'll be in a right old mood but I'll smell delightful. :rotfl:
I hope your day is kind to you.Herman - MP for all!0
