Oh dear, this morning all is not going well.
Been having a problem with low blood sugar for a few years now, but this morning it really took the -low carb- biscuit.
Felt a bit squiffy (so had a bit of orange juice -not low carb I know) -then went out the garden to put out the washing. Managed to fall over and gash my leg. Sigh.
The advice for PCOS is eat low carb diet. The advice for low blood sugar is regular carby meals. I can't win!
Seeing the GP tomorrow to sort this out once and for all. Feeling quite grumpy today, sorry chaps.
On a positive note, its quite sunny down here, but don't send your rain or my washing will get wet and I don't want to fall over again getting it in!!

dont you get hungry mazzers?0 -
dont you get hungry mazzers?
Not for hours, unheard of for me.
I was starving by 3pm yesterday as i went to bed hungry-ish the night before.
But have only just eaten since 8pm last night. I was hungry now tho.
I think its because my blood glucose is probably stable now and it was through the roof before starting lc, but am unsure as i need a test to confirm this.
The bacon, sausage and egg i just had will probably see me through til i come home at 8.30 tonight.0 -
Out of interest, how much body fat do you guys think a person can lose in 1 week without becoming unhealthy? I am sure it is more than 2-3 pounds.
I remember reading an article with Ricky Hatton's trainer and he said that, at peak training for a fight, Hatton loses something like 4-5 pounds of fat a week.
In most people's cases losing 4-5lbs of weight in a week would not be all fat. Ricky Hatton is an athlete in peak physical fitness, he can physically afford to mess around with his intake / training to achieve variations in his weight / bmi. (one would have to ask what on earth he'd been doing with himself if that fat loss rate had to continue for 2 or more weeks) That sort of loss in a 'regular person' would be at least part water, maybe even muscle.
If a dieting bod continues to be a carb burner the body will burn carbs, then muscle, whilst laying down / hanging onto any fat the body has.
That's why crash diets don't work.
If you aren't in ketosis I wouldn't recommend trying to lose 4-5lbs of fat a week, as you may lose but be fooling yourself as to quite what you were losing. Unless you are Ricky Hatton or similar, of course
Anyway I'd worry about baggy skin :rotfl:

Ok, I should probably explain why I had chocolate for brekkie
It's the anniversary of losing my Mum today so I'm feeling a bit down, it's been 8 years but still remember things vividly& still miss her very much.
Been to see my Dad & he's subdued too. Wanted me to buy him fish & mushy peas for his lunch & I ended up getting chips & curry sauce for me. Obviously emotional eating runs in the family
Anyway, I'll feel better tomorrow.0 -
