Jerry. is that all you've eaten today? I'd be starving!!! Do you snack as well or is that your lot?

Last night, as predicted, I could not resist the vodka. but I didn't have too many. Just three doubles.. which is excellent for me.

I've already drank 2 litres of water today. Feeling proud of myself all in all. Don't know if its all in my head, but my skin feels glowy and clearer and my eyes are sparkly. Instead of the usual dull. I've also lost some of the bags under my eyes.

Another bit of great news.. I've got some temp work! I thought the agency had forgotten about me. I've got 6 hours on monday and 3 hours on Wednesday! Whooopi.. That means I can pay the council tax this month !! That's always a worry. As I was in debt last year with the council tax and bailiffs - were a fixture!

Today, i've hoovered house from top to bottom, and done 30 mins on exercise bike as well..... now.. where's that halo?

Congratulations on the job JJJ and well done on cutting down on the alcohol. I'm so glad you are feeling more positive now.

I went off the rails a bit yesterday and made chapatis with a combination of flax and brown rice flour. I thought they would be better that way but guess what, they weren't. I will be going back to making just flax chapatis from now on.

I got weighed yesterday morning and I've put 2lb on but I'm ok with it. TOTM is coming up so I'm hoping I will lose the extra pounds once that has passed.

    Hi all,
I was camping last week and couldn't weigh myself so I was relieved to come back and find that I had lost a kilo rather than gained as I had feared.
I have been mixing vodka with lime juice and fizzy water to try to avoid sweeteners but usually drink wine.

Just trying to find my 'i told you so' post ;).........ah ha....

Sorry, it's getting a bit long, just wanted to say to JJJ, re. your money spent (wasted) on drink and fags. You have said it yourself, by putting aside the money you would have spent and seeing it mount up to be spent on clothes, hair, make-up, days out etc, you know, all those things that make you feel good but have no down-sides or after-effects? It's then like a roller-coaster as your skin/eyes/teeth/health/weight/mood/improves, and to cap it all you've got more money to spend! How good is that?

That's a good idea, Elantan. Try and stick to white spirits and wine if you can - although not in the same glass! :D.

Hi everyone, yesterday I made some flax pancakes and as I am not really a 'sweet' person but more of a savoury one I ate them with bacon and tomatoes. I really enjoyed them.

Anyhow I have been looking for another alternative to 'bread' and hve found this recipe, which I may try out tomorrow, please forgive me if its already been posted.......

    Low Carb Flax Bread Ingredients
    For this recipe we'll need:

    1/3 cup of oil
    1/2 cup of water
    1 teaspoon of salt
    1 tablespoon of baking powder
    5 eggs beaten together well
2 cups of flax seed meal - you can find this at most grocery stores in the baking aisle

First preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix the Low Carb Bread Ingredients
In a large bowl, pour the flax seed meal,
the salt, and the baking powder and mix well.

Now we'll add oil, the water and the eggs and mix those together well. Let this set for two to three minutes to thicken.
Form the Low Carb Flax Bread
Here I have silicon mat on a baking tray. You can use oiled parchment paper. And now we'll pour the batter into the pan, once you have it all there, you can spread this out on your pan to whatever thickness you desire, but it should be at least a 1/2 inch think.
    Bake the Low Carb Bread
We'll put this into the oven at 350 degrees for about twenty minutes. And you can pull it out and you just want to push on the bread and if it bounces back a bit it is done. Finally let this cool for about twenty minutes, and then take a spatula or knife and cut the bread as you like.

The original recipe included artificial sweetener but I will leave this out. Also there is a video link of how to make the bread......

    http://video.about.com/lowcarbdiets/Focaccia-Style-Flax-Bread.htm

    Hope you find this usefull

Just wanted to add that I don't post my menu's here as I dont really count carbs as such, I just eat lower (healthy) carbs to control my diabetes.......but I do read this thread avidly. To be honest I was a little scared of getting 'jumped on' for eating something not considered correct. Eating lower carb for me has shown an imrovement in my blood sugar levels and for me that is the main thing :o

If I find any useful recipes I will post them here

Happy low carbing all and to those going on holiday have a fab time :T

P.S Will let you know how this recipe turns out.

    Hiya

Elantan - have a great time in america. i watch the man v food programme and its mad the amount of food he gets through. but saying that alot of it is a case of not having the bun or fries so hopefully you should be ok. :D i am always better on holidays as i dont want to feel ill.

I have just got back from my sisters. i was good, had bacon, eggs and tomato for breakfast, ham salad for lunches, ham salad for tea on friday as they all had pizza and last night we had bbq food so i had ribs and a huge burger (no bun) from the farm shop and salad. :D and after drinking wine i even refused the crisps i was offered! :A

i have just stocked up on salad stuff to last the week and got cheese and mince with 30% off in lidl :money: i do need to start drinking water again and will be making pizza base out of turkey sausages at some point this week. will let you know how that goes.

How many carbs in a bottle of wine again? Lol, VERY boozy Sunday lunch has been had :rotfl:Was good with food, had roast chicken, some creamed spinach and some cabbage, followed by some walnuts and a cup of greek yog, but have managed to have 4 very large glasses of red and someone, who shall remain nameless (Cherrypies!) has just opened another bottle!

Ah well, penetance tomorrow, I shall walk to town and back, 4 miles, 2 of which are up a very steep hill and eat sensibly and we'll see if that makes any difference! Curses to Tesco and their fabulous wine offers :D

Hope you've all had a good Sunday!
