My copy of Fathead the Movie arrived this morning.
I can play it on my PC but it is REGION ONE and not ALL REGION as stated on the advert.
I'll watch it later today when it rains and report back later.

Still think I may complain to supermarket.com about it not being as described.

PS Now watched Fathead and very pleased with it. I thought there would be more funny bits but it was really quite serious. I'm even more impressed with the Eades. Such an intelligent and articulate couple of doctors and very very convincing.

I was more impressed with the arguments, at the end of the film, in favour of freedom of choice than I thought I would be. While I accept that governments have not been good in the past at dictating what healthy foods should be encouraged I did think that as Government has to pick up the tab for medical care it is reasonable that Government should use taxation/sensible legislation to encourage people to make sensible choices but as these actions have so far been counterproductive it's probably not a good thing.

The interviews at the end of the video are worth watching as well.

For those who want to know more then Tom Naughton's blog here is very good reading

Supposed to aid getting into ketosis. I've never really made it into ketosis before so hope this helps. It is a way to get fats into the diet if you have a problem doing that like I do.

I have found that I don't want to eat as much in total over the day. I've only started doing it from Saturday and so far only once a day.

You can buy MCT oil from bodybuilder's type supplement providers. That's £20 but free delivery.

It's not got the coconut flavour that obviously coconut oil has and it's much higher in MCT's than is coconut oil but it is a bit pricey.
It's nice for salad oil as it doesn't solidify at room temperature as Coconut oil does.

At the risk of appearing pedantic, there are carbs in mango and salad :D

I agree that cutting out most carbs is good but it is important to get enough veg for vitamins etc.

Well, yes. There are two different definitions of carbs here - incidental carbs in fruit/veg and 'intentional' carbs like wheat, rice, flour etc. I never intentionally add carbs to anything now (apart from honey here and there). But I eat a hell of a lot of fresh, raw veg.

Don't ever try to get between me and my spinach and chicken salads!

Kinda 'touch my food, feel my fork'? :rotfl:

It's worth noting that the carbs in your 'incidental' bracket can vary loads where fruit or veg are concerned. I eat lots of veg but tend to concentrate on salad leaves, brocolli, cauli etc that do not have many carbs, rather than tomatoes, carrots etc (just eat these in moderation). I never eat fruit except the odd berry type thing. Most just have WAY to much sugar, feel like it would spoil my hard work for the sake of an apple / orange / banana etc.

Which plan are you following? They often disagree with each other so it helps if we know which way you are going.

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)

I'm sticking with the coconut oil, I have it in and it mitigates the rankness of linseed oil somewhat :)

I'm a bit concerned about linseed oil when it becomes rank. I'm not sure it's going or gone off. That's why I prefer to have my linseed come from freshly ground whole linseed. Or at least linseed that I ground on Monday and spends the rest of the week in the fridge. I'd be happier if all linseed oil was kept in the fridge from the point of grinding and didn't sit on healthfood shop shelves at room temperature before being consumed.
I'm also not sure, because people don't chew linseed oil capsules, how fresh the linseed oil would be in those. The linseed oil content of ground linseed is really very high (it can be used as a substitute for butter in baking) so I think (but don't know for sure) that it could be used as a substitute for flaxseed oil in Dr McCleary's formula. I'm sure if you emailed him he'd give you his opinion. He seems a real nice guy.

Thanks, Ted. When I said 'rank' I meant that it simply tastes awful :) The stuff I got is 'freshly squeezed' and spends its' time in a fridge prior to dispatch. Doesn't taste 'off' but is really oily, more like olive oil in consistancy, rather than the cleaner effect of coconut oil which I am more used to. Won't take me long to get through it as I only got 200mls or so to try it. Glad to see it came in dark glass bottles and has been kept in the fridge since it landed at mine.

I also have some hemp seed oil and may try that in place of flaxseed at some point. It tastes nutty.
