Mercy, I'd be interested to see your Dukan menu! I might be able to help, I spent several months on it last year.

ETA I have had curried chicken today (twice) with mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes and lots of spices. Also had my toasted oatbran with some natural yoghurt. Mmmm might have some more of that for supper...
And lots to drink, I'm about as drenched inside as it is outside!Bossymoo

I eat a fair amount of pulses and they do not give me wind, perhaps it is because I am used to them, but also I soak them for ages and then rinse them a couple of times before cooking, then I boil them hard for a few minutes before putting under pressure in the pressure cooker. Also, most of the time I put a piece of Kombu seaweed to cook with them, especially the chick peas, this is supposed to help - apart from adding a good amount of minerals and calcium.
I need to get myself under check, as I have been slipping a bit: the other day a couple of spoonfuls rhubarb (with sugar), yesterday a small (ish) piece of cheesecake that I made for the family, today I had a couple of forkfuls of DH's carrot cake when we stopped for coffee at the cafe....I know that this is a dangerous slippery slope.
From tomorrow I am going to start posting my food, I also need to make myself eat more fish because I have been relying on dairy a bit too much lately. Not easy as I don't really like to eat animals, but as I have managed to force myself before I can manage now. Tuna with loads of mayo is just about tolerable, I can stomach smoked salmon and cod/haddock fillets (skinless and boneless) are just about edible if I cook them in tomato sauce or if I cover them with garlic, parsley, lemon and olive oil.
So, tomorrow back on a few phase 1 days, just to counteract the last three days of slipping. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
As someone who does no exercise, can I ask how you would know if your body was burning muscle mass as opposed to fat? Also, are there any 'resistance ' type exercises on the wii fit that I could do-its funny how easy I find it to sort the food out, but just can't commit to exercise. A walk every day wouldn't be resistance would it????
You could try this....

It's free, doesn't need a wii fit, gym membership or any other equipment.
Mrs G did the full programme but only got to 50. It's bloomin hard work!0 -
aliasojo - thanks for the picture, think that I'll have a picture taken of my backside before buying any jeans
I saw mine the other day, it wasn't pretty.
I was in a cubicle in Next just say patiently waiting for daughter to hurry up and try on trousers. Their cubicles have those front and back mirrors and it's the first time I've seen my butt in all it's glory in a long long time.
I had the good grace to feel ashamed.
I don't think about my @ss too much, simply because I don't see it. It's my belly that gets my attention mostly.:D
Anyway, I wish you all a stress free, easy eating day.Herman - MP for all!0 -

Me too actually. Just in case it make me think I could do it.
Despite the fact I really want and need to lose weight, I'm struggling with interest and motivation. I have none.
Maybe a new bandwagon might help? :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0 -
