Some really good results lately - well done everyone - :T and more evidence that the medical profession are completely mis-guided.
There was a report a couple of days ago about how diabetes, and it's related conditions, was going to massively increase NHS costs for the next generation (you don't say!!), all they were focusing on was the way they medicate it that has to change - not prevention. Depressing that the 'experts' in charge, can't see beyond a pill.
Anyhow, I hate to keep reminding you - it is my job after all! - but make sure that you are not losing muscle mass in this great 'weight' loss by exercising, pref. with resistance exercises.0 -
marbett no i think you have to buy the book as its not all explained on her website
welcome back gers - missed you
I had a look on the webpage, but couldn't find any real advice. That's what I love about the Primal Blueprint website, the info is all there, despite him selling books.
Am I right in thinking that she suggests that you don't mix carbs with proteins, but still avoid sugar/grains?0 -

And whats more by prescribing just pills and not advising the significance of carbs on diabetes they are just making the condition worseVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -

Part of our aqua-aerobics, which I do 3 x week, is resistance, pushing down on a woggle which wants to float up all the time and we're pressing down on it! I also have some weights at home.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.
Before I found wisdom, I became old.0 -
Margaretclare, your story about your and your husband is so romantic, how lovely!
Today I chanced my first low(ish) carb pancakes, made with ground linseed, ground almond, egg, a bit of cream cheese and a small amount (just for luck!) of gram flour, reckoned I occasionally eat chick peas so it cannot be harmful. Ah, and a pinch of baking powder. They came out lovely! Nice fat little pancakes, not the crepe type ones but equally good. DH had them with my homemade raspberry jam, I disciplined myself to have them with some cooked rhubarb, which alas contained a bit of sugar but nothing as much as the jam.
Then I went for a hard outdoor workout and for lunch I had halloumi salad. Dinner will be roasted veg and baked fish, so it compensates for the little carb in the breakfast.
Visited a jumble sale and bought myself a beautiful pair of purple jeans, size 32 waist! Yah! Only, the Wallis skirt size 14 still eluded me, by 1 inch or so, only, but decided not to buy it anyway.
Hope you all have a good weekend. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Margaret, you sound like a very inspirational person, good on you. I used to teach aqua aerobics abroad and those 'woggles' (floaty-sticks we used to call them) are really useful.
Caterina's had her workout, I did my circuit + pilates this morn, Grey is hopefully getting to grips with the dumbells, anyone else get anything to report? This is all going very well. :j Sheila..........???? Have you been :A
Edited to say, perhaps we should add workout diaries to food diaries??0 -

I have been sweeping the patio, weeding, potting out plants and bending to pick up stray toys, balls, dog bits and pieces. Also done 3 loads of washing for my family, collected and hung out to dry, washed up after 5 people twice, cleaned and tidied. Back is stiff now so I think that should do. It may not be conventional exercise but it is still quite a work out and has taken up quite a bit of my day. Is that ok murphydog9990

Oh yes, constant activity during the day, is often said to be more beneficial then an hours workout every few days.
You must be nowhere near me then as it's chucked it down all day, well all week actually :mad:0
