    Hi
I agree with Mercy and think that we have all been spooked by what happened and can read anything into one another's comments. Let's get back to what is important, discussing what we are doing and supporting one another. I don't fancy either mercy's or sistercas' breakfasts but they may not fancy mine either. :D

I went to the hospital today and the registrar asked how had I managed to lose so much weight, had I had a gastric band fitted?
When I explained he wanted all the details and was really interested.
He was the same one that told me a year ago to go away and not return until I had lost some weight and it felt really good!!!! ;)
    Well done Sheila. :T

You are doing your bit to educate the medical profession! For that we should all be grateful!

Bet you want to cartwheel down the street! :A

My life, you think about food everywhere dontcha? ;):p:D

Is sweet still around these days? I was thinking about her the other day when I was trying to describe 'carb face' to my 12 year old.

She's been cut some slack with regards to eating junk as her pal was here on holiday for a week but she's not usually allowed lots of sugary or junky stuff and I saw a difference in her after only a few short days. Her face looks a tad puffy and she's got loads of blackheads and spots appearing. Normally her diet is good and her skin is kept reasonably clear (or as clear as you can at 'that' age).

I was trying to talk to her about the effect that too much carb can have on your body but when I mentioned 'carb face', her Dad laughed at me. Until he Googled it.......it's quite a well known term.:rotfl:

(Not that I think that sweet has a carb face, just that she was the one who first said those words. :rotfl:)

Sweets is alive and likely kicking something :) Not on here though. :(
I have her on fb. First heard about carbface from her too. Have seen it and it's disappearance in the mirror since, several times :rotfl:

If you are now doing fb I'll pm you her name. She'd love to hear from you, as I would too.

L - there is protein in the milk, you could add a splash of double cream as well. Also have you tried almond butter? Like peanut butter, but almonds - if it needs an explanation :o . A lot of people use this in porridge for flavour, texture, vits and..........protein.

It might sound a bit strange, but it's nice in the centre of celery sticks for a snack, and if you share an apple with someone, just slice and spread! (approx 10g carbs for 1/2 med apple - not particularly low, but useful to know if you are peckish.)

ohhh murphy thanks for the idea ... i LOVE almond butter ... have a few jars in just now ... i will make my own when i run out ... great idea never thought about it ... thanks

Surely not elantan. That's where the sugar in coleslaw comes from.

I suppose a huge steak and plain salad?

Oh what the Hell, if it's not for your health go and enjoy everything. Stressing is worse than pigging. Have a great time.

thanks padstow i will do my best ... i think though over there they can be so fussy with their eating that you could ask whats low carb and get something that fits your dietry needs ... atleast that's what i am desperately hoping :rotfl::rotfl:

also i have seen some of the cakes on the vegas thread and i dont know whether to be excited or cry

I only had a fb account for a short while Mercy, I just couldn't get on with it. I was forever having to check how to do *whatever* and then got paranoid that the world and his brother could see all my boring stuff rather than just you lot who I had allowed or befriended or whatever it's called. :rotfl:

Also there was never anyone around when I wanted a chat so I kinda gave up. :D

Say Hi to eveyone on fb for me though please. Tell them they can say bad things if they want cos I wont know. :rotfl:

Mercy - cartwheel, I wish, but it did feel really good and I almost felt smug ;)

Thanks everyone for understanding, it was a big deal for me as my GP has been trying to suggest a gastric band for a while but I would never go there. You have to have a BMI over 40 to qualify and mine is now 32.5, still too high but a lot better.

Yeah. Tell them I'm fat again. :rotfl:

I do miss talking with the lot of you, we used to have a right good laugh in amongst the food angst. :D

I wish I could get my head back in the right place to start eating properly again and I'd hang around here, as I liked you lot (don't let it go to your heads :p:D) but I can't play yet as I'm not there yet iyswim. :o

I'd only lower the tone. Then I'd get a row from the serious icers. :D
