I would like to make a polite request.
Can we stop the carb sarcasm and the idea that there are low carb people who will go on about other people's carbs, please?
The main protagonist appears to have gone (fingers crossed) and I made 1, 1 I tell you, comment about oats.
I will never do that again.
Indeed, without a question being asked, I will not comment on folks foods in a negative way. What would be the point? :rotfl:

I don't either but I wouldn't jump to the idea it was particularly negative. Maybe it was such an unusual one it seemed worth commenting on? Can't say I've tried it but as i enjoy very strong savoury foods for breakfast on occasion, it didn't really register as odd
I have been having coconut oil in goats milk with turmeric and black pepper, so wasn't surprised when that caused comment :rotfl:
I think the temperature on here is still a little above normal and we've all been hurt / spiked in some way. Let's all just give it a couple of days to calm right down, back to where we should be.
I love you all.

I don't understand in spite of the smilies. Please PM me if it was me.
Don't think so, it's been a few comments like 'dare I say...' (add higher carb food) I think food police was mentioned etc. I'm not remembering the people, just registering a certain uncomfortable undercurrent. Maybe I'm being sensitive as I've been here so long and it doesn't feel right yet.
I'm not up for another fight :rotfl: Just don't think a drip drip of negativity does anyone any good.
Anyone who's read this place for any length of time knows it's essentially accepting. And helpful.

sistercas, I meant nothing untoward about your brekkie only that it was a mix of flavours, and I assumed some posts back that you accepted it in the spirit I presented it in, which I thought was light hearted. I had no idea it was being carried over and I'm sorry.
I think I'd better get out of here because I don't know what I'm doing wrong.0 -

You are doing nothing wrong.
Neither is anyone else

My life, you think about food everywhere dontcha?:D
Is sweet still around these days? I was thinking about her the other day when I was trying to describe 'carb face' to my 12 year old.
She's been cut some slack with regards to eating junk as her pal was here on holiday for a week but she's not usually allowed lots of sugary or junky stuff and I saw a difference in her after only a few short days. Her face looks a tad puffy and she's got loads of blackheads and spots appearing. Normally her diet is good and her skin is kept reasonably clear (or as clear as you can at 'that' age).
I was trying to talk to her about the effect that too much carb can have on your body but when I mentioned 'carb face', her Dad laughed at me. Until he Googled it.......it's quite a well known term.:rotfl:
(Not that I think that sweet has a carb face, just that she was the one who first said those words. :rotfl:)Herman - MP for all!0 -

Hi
I agree with Mercy and think that we have all been spooked by what happened and can read anything into one another's comments. Let's get back to what is important, discussing what we are doing and supporting one another. I don't fancy either mercy's or sistercas' breakfasts but they may not fancy mine either.
I went to the hospital today and the registrar asked how had I managed to lose so much weight, had I had a gastric band fitted?
When I explained he wanted all the details and was really interested.
He was the same one that told me a year ago to go away and not return until I had lost some weight and it felt really good!!!!0 -

My original remark was probably along the lines of when I first saw my daughter pour malt vinegar over fried eggs. I vocalised how odd it was, or rather argh!! and was greeted with howls of laughter and "it's lovely"! But it was rude of me in yours, as not knowing one another it was misunderstood and for that I am truly sorry.0
