Found it. Mercy page 621 post 12403 making comments about not being able to give clothes away and making assumptions after Padstow did same earlier on same page because I did FIRST order from Abel & Cole.

Sheila54 knew all along that OH works in public sector but said nowt about PM but did choose to tell you all about another PM that I had decided to post on a different low carb website thus stirring it up again - and lurker Caterina jumps in and mazzers and pretty soon people are making completely nasty comments on my mental health which are so completely wrong it's ridiculous.

Sheila54 also knew that I prefer to spend money on good food and my house rather than holidays and flatscreen TVs.

But hey I'll leave you to your rice cakes and moans about stalling and I'm leaving MSE too.

It's for bargain hunters who shop in places like Approved Foods and Lidl all the time and it doesn't actually matter that Abel & Cole mature Cheddar is 79p cheaper than Cathedral City in Tesco for 10g more, or that the Yeo Valley organic butter is 20p cheaper or that 500g organic chicken drumsticks are 2.75 as opposed to 3.50 in Sainsbury's.

In effect I've been pilloried for not feeling I need to justify spending money on food and our house instead of holidays and getting bargains from supposed posh shops. Inverse snobbery or what ?

So yep I will leave you to you comfy knitting circle and I will remind myself what I learned in a girls' school, that if you don't fit in with the majority, sooner or later the knives come out. Thank goodness my friends are all male..

It isn't. Martin's philosophy has never been one of penny pinching - just of the comsumer not being ripped off so that we can spend our money how we like.

I spend much more on food than many people on MSE because, as I am what I eat, I like to buy good quality stuff. I also have concerns about how a lot of the cheaper food is raised and processed.

For those with no option because money is very tight, that's a different matter, but some people do seem to think spending on food is bad.

I don't think there's any need to stir it all up again. Each to their own.

You will notice Edwardia that I haven't thanked any posts referring to our dispute, as I wish It had never happened. I wish now that I had taken it to PM, and I tried to ignore it, but here you are inflaming the situation once again so I have to reply.

Yes this is Low Carb, but carbs are cheap and it's difficult to stay on it when finances are near zero. I also see no reason not to eat a slice of thin wholemeal toast, or two new potatoes a week, which I haven't done. Others here understand, why can't you? It is still low carb.

You apparently have health problems, I don't. I am doing this for vanity reasons.

Why do you think families on the brink, fill their trollies with bread? Because it's cheap and addictive, as full of bloomin sugar.

Some years ago, I bought a bread maker and followed the book that came with it. 2 Tbsps of sugar plus milk powder. It was revoltingly sweet. Left out the sugar and milk powder, and it was good.

Apart from a weekend to Germany, I haven't holidayed in 20 years, all went on private education and all that goes with it.

I think you should either slink away or come back and contribute, not keep stirring up.

Padstow I'm trying to eat 5 smaller meals a day rather than 3, or at least 3 smaller & 2 substantial snacks. But it depends on how convenient that is and how organised I am when at work etc.

Apparently this is a better way to eat for those doing high levels of fitness and I'm doing intensive workouts at the mo.

Had to buy a smaller dinner plate tho cos all mine are huge! And smaller portions just look lost on there :rotfl:

Got a nice square one from Dunhelm Mill which I think is actually a large side plate but it will do. Subconsciously I didn't like having a half empty plate even tho I'm eating more meals if that makes sense.
We all need to find our own way. I lost a stone very fast on a slice of wholemeal plus Marmite or sliced tomatoes or God forbid some baked beans for breakfast.

A spoonful of cottage cheese or mashed sardines with mayo for inbetweens and salmon salad for mains.

padstow i would love to say it's been fantastic but it is a work in progress really :(

i'm using the sad lamp at work twice a night .. that does help me feel more awake ( i have also found some excercises that i can do without making any noise) i have those blue block glasses ( only used them for the first time today) so will see how that goes ...

the ear plugs i have wore for two mornings ... yesterday fantastic i slept right up until the phone went ( but i think that was partly due to only having 2 hours sleep the day before tbh) then i did make it back to sleep for a further 3 hours after tossing about for an hour

i'm still awaiting the arrival of the melatonin tablets ... hopefully with everything combined i will get a good sleep soon

this morning i have had 3.5 hours sleep ... i am shattered can barely think and i am night shift again tonight ( sad lamp will be getting used a fair bit i reckon)

i know it will take time to get some sort of routine but i am trying my best so far ( just wish i could sleep) so i think what i need is patience more than anything else tbh

i have however been working on the whole carb thing on night shift as well instead of having 40g per day once a day i have been having 25 g twice per day ... taking my carb intake up to 50g from 40g it seems to have staved off any cravings and for that i am really grateful tbh

i think i will keep it at the 25g x 2 when i am on night shift till i come home from holidays but then will try and lower it to 20 x 2g

in other news i have filled two application forms in and one of the jobs which i really fancied i had a kinda impromtu off the record phone interview for ... it appears that i am exactly what they are looking for and they would really like to interview me

i'm trying not to get too excited about this as i was told this earlier on in the year with another job that i had went for an interview for and didnt get but got amazing feed back ... i was told they desperately wanted me but not for the job advertised for a more senior role ( which then never came about as the posts were all pulled)

how have you been getting on ?

    hows the lentils going?
