Bought 3 t-shirts and was pleased that I could fit into 16 - 18 as I was a size 28 this time last year!! :j
    QUOTE]

thats a fantastic achievement :T:T you must be so proud , thats alot of extremely hard work and commitment :T

had a lovely day , went to go to decathlon for some trainers but we couldnt get there as the roads were closed for a half marathon. so we ended up in t3sco and i managed to get a couple of t shirts . on the way back the roads were open again so we went to decathlon and i picked up some trainers for work ( that look more like shoes ;)) and are incredibly comfy

spent the rest of the day washing, interspersed with sunbathing :D plenty of vitamin D for me

hope everyone has had a lovely day

devildog - please let me know how you get on with stevia as I have now tried it twice in powder form and it just doesn't seem sweet at all!

sistercas - glad you had a good day and made the most of the sunshine.

confused76 - most of the weight lost last year but I am well pleased as it is the smallest I have been for 30+ years and it is so good to be able to buy items in most shops instead of Evans ;)

Anyone else had a good day? or a bad day, although I hope not!

Will do, although it will be a couple of weeks yet before I get my hands on it. Gonna see if I can get some of the granulated stuff too though, think it will be hard enough to try and work out how much granulated to add to things nevermind factoring in the fact that it is liquid too.

I bought liquid stevia a few years ago.. had it from USA i think, had to be imported as a herbal or health product or some such nonsense... it's probably still in the cupboard as i didnt find it very sweet either, preferred sweeteners.
    Was damn expensive too!

murphydog999 - is that Living Low Carb by Fran McCullough or the Jonny Bowden one please ? I want to add it to my next Amazon list along with the Stephen Phinney book which daska recommended, The Art and Science of Low Carboydrate Living.

Please do explore the leptin resistance :) I recall that Dr Robert Lustig says that leptin and insulin share the same pathway to the brain and that if you have too much insulin sloshing about then the leptin doesn't get there to tell the brain the fat cells are full.

Hi, yes, it's the Johnny Bowden one, easy to dip in and out of, and not too heavy on the depth. It's obviously USA based but still very relevant over here.

You are spot on with your leptin recall. It's not the first time this has come to my attention, and there are certain foods (salmon being an important one) that trigger the pathways again; it's tied in with inflammation - that word is cropping up a lot at the moment -
so it would be useful to know the what, when and why.

Sheila, I didn't realise you are a shadow of your former self, that's worth a big :j and maybe a small  I am extremely envious of your Italian Lakes trip, it's on my list as I love Italy - Rome has to be my favourite city - hope you have a great time.

Meant to add re. Stevia. I bought the smallest pot of 'Stevia gold' powder from Amazon - 10g I think. I had to email the company how to use it, and was told that this little pot is equivalent to 4.8kg of sugar!! Just the residue after dipping the tip of a knife blade in, is enough for a cuppa. I only drink green tea - it is mainly for my husband - but in the occasional coffee it's remarkably good. You can bake with it but I haven't tried yet. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004R56D6O/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i03
that's the link, but it's out of stock at the mo.

Just a warning on supermarket Stevia, 'Truvia' and the like, they are only a fraction of pure Stevia, are can't claim to be completely natural - which is the overwhelming reason for using it in the first place.

Thank you all for your kindness. Yes it is great to be smaller and opens up shopping opportunities but I still have very flabby thighs and a large roll on the front that I would like to take a knife and cut off. Must weigh at least half a stone on it's own. I am still 3 stone away from the weight that I should be so will keep striving :D but intend to keep to the low carb way whatever happens.

Perhaps we should all tell of our low carb journey to help newcomers?

murphydog999 - thanks, I am really looking forward to Italy. Staying with Thomson Al Fresco in a mobile home as it is not too expensive in June and used avios from the Tesco's deal earlier this year for flights for all of us. Thanks for the advice re stevia gold, I will give it one last ditch attempt as it is better than splenda according to the information that I have read. Wish I was like Edwardia, daska etc and could do without it but I can now in tea but not coffee.

I found this link where it is in stock

What are you all doing to celebrate the Jubilee? Nice to have something to celebrate in the present economical climate ;)

Edwardia - you are a real bookworm and put me to shame!

Mercy - see you hovering, how are things?

mazzers - I hope that work is ok today.

Back to lc, going for an impromptu trip to the beach today, and am about to pack a lc picnic.
