........had my breakfast according to the leptin reset protocol , i made a crustless quiche and had about a third , and 2 quality beef sausages , i really had to force it in again and i suspect i am nowhere near the 50-70g of protein , ill keep plodding on , i managed to keep to it yesterday and this morning i have lost 2lbs :j
SOOO glad someone else on here is trying/doing this! :T
It seems so much easier than anything I've been doing up to now....and what a joy not to have to count ANYTHING, nor worry about eating too much ...for me, just my one meal later, after the BAB, as I'm not hungry again till then....and even though I've nothing to loose, (just going for Optimal Health!) I'd easily add a couple of lbs if I didn't watch calorie intake while doing CR with IFing!! Doing this I'm still loosing a bit, so my body is still settling down to this new woe...but, I'm loving it!!! :j
Good luck with it sistercas...and keep us informed as to how you're doing on it.

OMG, been without internet for few days
accidentally reset my Linksys router (not first time it's happened) and they wouldn't help as the warranty has run out, b@stards offered 24 hr warranty for twenty odd quid.. P*ss off Linksys!!!
Currently connected on a moden (gasp) while waiting for a free router from talktalk.
Ethernet cable only a metre long tho so atm i'm sitting in the hall on the floor
I'm too old for this lark!
Off to catch up0 -

mazzers - it seems my suggestion may not be a daft as it seemed
take a look at this link to criticalmas
Right from when I was a child I knew that if I ate breakfast I would get hungrier earlier in the day but if I put off eating until lunchtime I would eat less overall and not feel hungry during the morning. QUOTE]
Me and my mate said the same thing recently, she's now diabetic and i will be if i dont watch out.I can get up and have nothing to eat until 5PM but my blood glucose will rise despite not having food. Partly the Dawn Phenomenon, partly glycogen dumps. That's not me guessing, that's me monitoring my BG with a meter.
So I do question how anyone can be sure that fasting increases insulin sensitivity without testing.
People with diabetes are excused from fasting for cholesterol blood tests and fasting for Ramadan, so I presume fasting is not looked upon favourably for people with diabetes.
My GP says that the truth is that all obese people have a degree of insulin resistance and are on the conveyor belt to diabetes, although it's not always diagnosed.
I've not tested while IF-ing but do intend to as i have some testing strips left.mazzers missed you, hope you soon get sorted

Aww :kisses3:
I've been very successfully IF-ing, i've managed to get breaks at about 4-5pm every day and have had lots of energy, dont think i could manage 24 hours tho as i look forward to having something nice at teatime.0 -
Mercy's squiffed
xx seen mooli, not eaten them and wincing here..and I used to eat the Tyrrell ones
daska yeah go for it <giggle>.. 2 hrs after food should be 7/mmol or under..sausages from what I was watching tonight about supermarkets good ones 80% meat rubbish ones 5% and eww the stuff that goes in them yuck. My mother lives near a place that makes wild boar sausages..amaaaazingly good.
Might have to back out of that offer, my insides are getting worse and I think I've discovered the problem - I misread the instructions on the meds I'm taking. I read the bit which said must be taken with water, at least a glass of water. I missed the later bit which said must be taken with food as well. While I had guests I was joining in with meals but when they left I slid back into the IF. I thought the upset was down to the bad eating while they were here and having eaten sausages/tomatos etc over the last few days but I think I need to allow a few days for it all to settle down and recover while avoiding anything that might trigger an upset - and Yacon can apparently, though I have never tried it in sufficient quantity to know if it will affect me.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

i have been reading about it. lets just say that i had/have issues with food and think this could help me.
it is right that i would eat a BAB (love it!) full of protein and fat with less than 25 carbs and hopefully that will keep me full until tea when i eat protein and fat with minimal carbs ie cauli. i have to eat within 30 mins of getting up although would be an hour as i walk the dog when i get up before doing anything else. and that i have to have tea 4 hours before going to bed. i could only drink water inbetween but can i have a cup of tea with milk with breakfast?

daska hope your stomach sorts soon, know the feeling had horrendous probs with metformin at first.
Generally I eat breakfast and always protein usually free range eggs with mushrooms fried in EV olive oil or ghee OR scrambled eggs in butter OR mushroom/cheese/Spanish omelette OR a couple of boiled free range eggs OR cottage cheese with or without berries OR Greek yogurt with berries. Sometimes I'll have a couple of Omega 3 fish fingers or a couple of sausages with the fried eggs at weekends.
I don't think missing breakfast is a good idea as blood sugar sinks and you get hungry also you're more likely to get glycogen dumps.
B - Fried eggs with mushrooms
L -Quorn burger (last one from freezer yay) and green salad
D- Perard soupe de poissons0 -

Now that sounds too complicated/strict to me.. i'd prefer to IF, we're all different eh
If it does reset your IR tho i'll give it a go, i'm dubious that it would tbh.0
