What's the problem? No point in undoing all of your hard work + you'll end up with worse self esteem and felling unwell to boot
daska - thanks for the recipe and advice. You obviously look at all of the health aspects and like cooking.
Tried 2 tbsp coconut oil last night and up with stomach gripes. Think I overdid it. Going to Cosmo tonight for granddaughter's 7th birthday so hope it clears up soon!0 -
Sheila, soy flour and whey protein powder may be other possible options for you..? I use the whey in pancakes and I get the feeling it's quite versatile..
Kids are fine, though eldest might be coming down with something. If you ever need to get ill, just go to a swimming pool! I was a bit naughty last night. 'T :female:m' is visiting again (Tom the painter, as OH says), boys were annoying me, was feeling rather miserable. OH cheered me up a bit and I had a lager. Good for tea (chicken stir fry), but had a slice of fruit bread and a couple of fig rolls later. Don't care. Just want this pesky stomach ache to bog off! Will go and have a couple ibuprofen, no co-codamol as they need using, then frankies and little slice of flax bread.0 -

When one goes, we all kinda go. :rotfl:< That's a laugh or you'll cry smilie.
I've had a bad couple of days. Got a lot of serious stuff to worry about with OH's job and eldest's issues and my diet comes way down the list so I've been snacking on 'bits'.
I'm not doing what I used to do though....beating myself up and eating even more, I'm just taking each day at a time at the moment and not freaking out if I have a slice of bread. etc.
Apparently it takes 3 weeks for a habit to form but it's getting to the 3 weeks in the first place that's the problem.
Have a good day all. :beer:Herman - MP for all!0 -

So true! After last weeks lovely start with the exercise and buying/cooking the right food, it has all come to a screeching halt:o
First my eldest fell ill and was up with him a few times each night since Friday,Sunday the youngest catches it so up with both of them now. You think they would at least coordinate their wakings for their poor ma:D No such luck!
So no school for them equals no runnings for me.The OH is away too at the mo,no running in the evening either. And yes to top it all off, it is TOM too. Did wonder why I slightly hoovered everything in sight last night. All became clear this morning,I thought it was just tiredness:D.
Mazzers and aliasojo- Hope it comes together for you both and thanks for sharing.I do not feel so alone now.
Sheila- Hope your tummy is better and you enjoy your grandaughter's do.
That was a long un wasnt it!? I do love a good moan:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Mazzers, aliasojo, schoolhouse, sunnyday and anyone who is struggling to get through the day :kisses3: and hugs x
Hope things get better soon.0 -

Oh gosh, hope that's cleared up. I'd let that clear up and then try a teaspoon at a time and build it up.
I spread it throughout the day. I tend to have a teaspoon with each meal/snack so breakfast, 11ses, lunch, tea, supper, before bed adds up to two tablespoons. It can get a bit erratic as I tend to forget to eat if I'm not hungry LOL. I'll also have a couple of spoonfuls if I know I'm going out for a meal which will be higher in carbs, not least because it makes me less likely to pig out on naughty things.Eat food. Not too much. It's just amazing that any of us have a modicum of health, let alone that we are still living and breathing!!!!
WHAT does one eat to lose weight and stay healthy (shrugs)????
After a negative stool test, (but, thankfully all was well!) I stopped eating any red meat....and, basically just eat chicken now, along with fish and eggs, but I even question these foods....anti-biotic use when rearing etc.
Trying to stay slim and healthy, it's enough to drive you insane!!!!
(sorry for the rant!!!)

Nothing new in this (but I still like rhubarb and I look forward to higher carb days and being able to make rhubarb and lentil curry again)
Nothing new in this either. If you read the blurb the highest increase of risk is associated with eating processed red meat and eating red meat every day. "Regular consumption of red meat, particularly processed red meat, was associated with increased mortality risk. One daily serving of unprocessed red meat (about the size of a deck of cards) was associated with a 13% increased risk of mortality, and one daily serving of processed red meat (one hot dog or two slices of bacon) was associated with a 20% increased risk." In other words, to avoid that risk eat a variety of real food.
Being realistic I think it's VERY difficult to eat a healthy diet now. Crops have been bred to accentuate certain features that benefit the farmer, wholesaler and retailer at the expense of taste and nutrition. Ditto meat. You have no idea how old food is, what conditions it was grown under, how it's been stored etc.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Worrying about it is more likely to send you to an early grave.
Everything in moderation is probably the best advice. My granddad lived well into his eighties eating pretty much what he wanted. Stuff that people throw their hands up at now... dripping, white bread, you name it. He didn't overeat though. My dad is the same. I slipped up temporarily but I'm getting back on the straight and narrow.0
