SHEILA54:hello:- I'm fine and plodding on, thank you for asking.
Hope the rest of you are well. My low carbing is going okay.Have not weighed myself at all to be honest,I'm going by how my clothes fit.
At the moment I seem to be going for the bumpy rather than streamlined look:D.
On a positive I have done my 3 runs for the week, hadn't been out for a run since Autumn last year..the shame! Last year I did the 'couch to 5k' programme and have restarted it this week. Need to get moving, my sister's wedding is in May and need to wear a sari, my tummy is certainly not sari friendly at the mo:o.
Right, need to go look at planting some seeds. Then some bread baking and clothes to wash.Maybe tea first eh?0 -
Morning all:wave:
I have decided to
a) use coconut oil as it may help
b) try eating more over the weekend to kickstart when I drop carbs again on Monday
c) use the exercise bike each day
d) scream, yell and kick if my weight doesn't move when I next weigh on Tuesday:D
e) bodybrush and pummel all that cellulite on my thighs as it looks appalling and massage with coffee as suggested. Give anything a try frankly as I have to strip off for the spa day in April with DD
Some low carb websites suggest eating 2000 - 2500 calories until your weight goes up by 2 - 3 lb and then drop to low carb again and keep doing this whenever you stall for a while. Frankly I am scared to do this as I don't know if I would get used to it and never go back!!!!
Alias - keep going, it will work!!!
schoolhouse - well done with the exercise.
Have a good day everyone, wherever you are;)0 -
Thank you Sheila for asking. I'm good thanks. No-one seems to have noticed my smaller trousers/smaller self, or a much shorter haircut.. I conclude that I have turned into one of those unnoticed, unimportant, invisible types. But hey ho, so what. My family notice and they actually count. Everyone else can p off!
Sheila I was thinking about your 'problems' (I get an image of Les Dawson here, with Roy.. Barraclough was it..? you know, the two women, hoisting up their 'chesticles' and pulling those faces.. Saying 'problems' silently.. lol).. I thought more fat may help, when you are allowed it. Noticed something about coconut oil.. maybe others are suggesting similar.. The wine is fuzzing my brain
Also, the exercise. I'm so sorry it doesn't seem to have helped. All I can say is that it should and I think it will. I'm glad you've decided to warm up. So important. One of the vids. I do says 'even the warm-ups need warm-ups' I started with slow and easy exercises, since it had been so long since I'd done it properly. I had been dog walking a good while though, and ramped up my speed a bit first. Then did yoga and that kind of thing for a good while. Please be careful. Slow and steady wins the race
Hats off to anyone who exercises against the odds, such as medical issues, etc.. I feel sure that there are suitable exercises for most conditions, which done right, can improve those very conditions, but it's easy for me to say. I don't have arthritis or other such ailments.. YET!
Well done Schoolhouse!
Had cauliflower pizza last night.. oh MY... can't believe how good it was! Put it off for so long, as thought it couldn't possibly be good.. glad to say I was wrong. Had the rest of it cold for lunch today. Scrumptious!! :T
Alias, just drop a pound coin down [STRIKE]a drain[/STRIKE] the back of the sofa and tell 'em you lost a pound
Welcome Daska
Can't remember what else I was going to say, if anything.. just more rambling waffle I imagine. Hehe. <toddles off>

Made this last night-delicious-nearest to true bread I can find! Did on a small loaf-standard setting-3 hrs, small light crust (turbo setting on my bread-maker doesn't work for any low carb bread i've tried). Next time though will add 60 ml more water & bake on 4 hour wholewheeat-more time to rise. Might experiment with less gluten flour-more coconut powder-slightly less oat flour...BUT mega tasty & toasts well!
Using conversion sites I've converted from New Zealand cups to metric. Recipe below-
260 ml water
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1tsp oil
1 tsp sugar (eaten by yeast)
2 tsp whole full fat milk powder
39gms oat flour
47 gms linseed ground & almonds-(1/2 & 1/2)
39 grams coconut flour (holland & barrett)
117 gms gluten flour
2 tsp yeast.
My carb count (why are there so many differences on-line???!)-10.14-coconut, 23.4-oats
1.36-almonds/flax
23.4-gluten flour
Milk-not a clue(!)-58.5 gms....yet recipe link says 20-25 grams net carbs???
Anyone care to advise? E-mailed web-site but no reply...thanks!!
Try this bread-even at 58.5 you'll get ten thick slices at 5.8/slice!0 -
Sorry Debtmonkey, cna't help. I get very confused with carb counts.
I've just had sunday lunch of roast chicken and swede chips - lovely.
Was a bit disheartened lasdt week when I seemed to have gained a few pounds, but realised it was fluid as I had eaten carbs and wasn't peeing much. Soon sorted it when I got back to lc, so hoping things start moving soon.
Very quiet on here today, must be the sunshine! I'm about to take a book out into the garden.0 -

Perhaps you should go round for a day with a t-shirt saying I have lost .......lb., look at me!
DEBTMONKEY1A - sorry I always have the same problem and usually take what it says on the packets.
Minihauk - is it really that warm where you are?
Went to get coconut oil and they have run out. Been out clearing up the garden and planting out strawberry plants. Don't know if they will be any good as from Poundland but, nothing ventured........
Feeling a bit low today. Tried eating a bit more yesterday but it has just given me stomach problems and heartburn:(
Breakfast - half an avacado with soft cheese
Lunch - handful nuts with 2 squares 70% chocolate, slice gouda with 1 ryvita
Dinner - 4 chipolate sausages with onions, swede, broccoli & cauliflower
May try making some cupcakes later, adapting the recipe in the Mail yesterday. Feel an bit guilty as my granddaughter has a really bad nut allergy and so can't have any.
Where has everyone been over the weekend?0 -

Oww, that's yuck. Hope you pick up soon <hugs>
I'm being naughty and waiting for an Indian. Had day off today and actually made the most of it. Took son to rugby, which he hasn't managed to get to yet for one reason or another. OH, youngest, me and doggie chops went for a walk, played, etc.. for a couple of hours waiting for him. We then went swimming and OH let me go off into the bigger pool for a while and actually do some swimming. I did 12 lengths, only stopping briefly at the walls to sort out my foggy goggles. There were slides, lazy rivers, waterfalls, and allsorts. It was a nice couple of hours.
Stopped of at a nice pub we like on way home for a quick drink. I had half a lager, some pork scratchings and one or two scampi fries and cheese moments. Naughty, but nice
Drinking diluted wine (with tonic water - OH forgot to get the low cal one I discovered last night.. <rollseyes>), and awaiting Indian. I've ordered a Tandoori mixed grill, which should keep me happy. Won't have rice or other starchy carby stuff, though might have a few nibbles of poppppadommMMmmm!
If only we could have more days like today..0 -

Glad that you had a nice day:) Must say that the better weather helps.
Made the chocolate cupcakes from Mary Berry's recipe, adapting as follows
25g Green & Blacks Cocoa
3 tbsp double cream
100g butter
100g ground almonds
1 tsp baking powder
8 tbsp Splenda
2 large eggs
Topping
60ml double cream 60g
70% dark chocolate
Preheat oven to 180 degrees, Gas 4
Put 10 muffin cases into muffin tin
Place cocoa in bowl and heat cream, pouring over when hot. Stir. Add all remaining ingredients except eggs. Separate and add yolks. Mix all ingredients together. Whisk whites to foam and fold in.
Spoon into cases and bake for 20 mins until risen. Take out of oven and leave to cool.
Meanwhile heat cream in pan and break chocolate into it when hot, stirring all the time. Leave to cool.
Spread over cakes when cold.
Total carbs 4.5g per cake, 2.5g if topping left off. Not bad!0 -
