Not sure about just eating one meal a day as wouldn't that put us into starvation mode and slow the metabolic rate? Can't anyway as I have an ulcer and it lets me know if I have an empty stomach!

Sunnyday - well done on your loss

Not heard from Mercy, caeler, DEBTMONKEY1A, barmaid, hope that you are all ok?

Well stomach cramps have passed so decided to have chicken and veg curry tonight, to clear the system, so to speak.

Have to talk to GP tomorrow about thyroid test as out on call today. Looked up thyroid diet today and it says to cut out broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, asparagus i.e the low carb veg.

    Always something!!!

    Nite, sweet dreams

    - You sound like you have tons of energy and really enjoy the exercise, i wish i could be more like that but i struggle for time badly. Glad to hear that it helps you feel more positive etc, must admit that i`m very antisocial at times. If i didn`t have to go to w*rk i would probably go weeks without seeing anyone apart from DH - tbh i`m not bothered though lol my days are pretty full of good things even without going to the bad place that pays me :D Apart from on here there are very few peeps that share my interests and that makes me worse too :D I`m lazy in that i find that the older i get the more i can`t be bothered :o

Yes, you do sound like a very busy bee. Several of you do. I think I'm busy and never seem to have enough time, but I often just don't seem to get enough done. Time management is not one of my strong points... <tries to think what is> :wall:

Oh I think I could live quite happily in a remote location and not see anyone for long periods of time. I'd miss my boys of course.. maybe even OH too
:rotfl: but some peace would be lovely.

Wassat?? Is it me being a bit thick or have you found some new special fat busting food that i don`t know about Hanno?

    *taps foot*
    :D:D

I have that most days. According to the packet, the frankfurters are 0.7g carbs each and I believe the Colac ketchup counts as no carbs... So yes, very handy: quick and delicious. Not very healthy though I suspect - too processed, so in the long term they will have to go, or be greatly reduced at the least..

Haven't heard from PP either, or Sweet for ages.. adelight aswell: and Bean for a few days.. Some others have disappeared too (e.g. Alias).

Someone mentioned Eric too recently. I think he achieved what he wanted to and stopped posting. Just stumbled on this old post:

Glad your cramps have gone; and what a bummer about the thyroid-diet thing.. yes, there's always something. Life's a 'jolly nuisance' sometimes

Well I'm feeling a bit RUFF atm. Icky sore throat which has been threatening me for a while and is now making it's presence felt. Felt achy too yesterday. Figured I'd overdone the exercise a bit so gave it a miss. I think I'll stick to my normal cardio/aerobic exercise and only do 10 mins of I.T. at a time: 20 seems to cause me aches and pains. Wonder if that's why the sore throat has managed to almost get the better of me..
    (ribbit, ribbit...)

Anyway, boys are up so better post yesterday's 'diary' quick:

B: Usual: 2 Herta frankfurters (chilli) with Colac ketchup (1.4g)

L: Slice of 'Mexican Fudge'* (~ 1/8th) with a slice of peppery ham (~3g)
T: Fried Brussel sprout leaves with bacon, garlic butter, nutmeg, chilli flakes. Thlrrrp!! (~7g?)

    O: Tea, coffee, ~4 pints water/g-tea+lemon, s/f gum, square of 85% choccie (~3g)

    Total carbs: ~ 15g

Exercise: Hour's walk with chops only.

Oh the wii fit says I've lost 1 lb this week, and I'm aging fast (couple of years older than last time: silly nonsense
    :rotfl:)

*My 'Mexican fudge' is more like quiche.. there are some 'sloppy' bits too: maybe my 'cup' of cream was bigger than yours Mercy.. Anyway, it's quite nice and OH likes it too: he had a slice with his Bacon & Brussels last night :)

I've now stabilised at just over a pound a week with a total of just over a stone lost up until now (nearly six weeks.)

However, I don't think low carbing works for everybody. Mrs G, for example, is following exactly the same regime as I am but, although her weight has fluctuated by 3 lbs, she hasn't actually lost anything at all overall. I think she is about to give it up as a bad job and try something else.

Its weigh in day and I've lost.........precisely nothing :(
  • Hi All,

A quick hello and *wave* as I'm snowed under at work. Just wanted to say I made mexican fudge last night and wow it is delish. I was doubtful as I'm not a fan of egg or quiche and thats what it reminded me of but I've packed in so much that you can't really taste the egg! It falls apart a bit so I need to juggle my layering technique so it sticks together a bit more but in it I've got half a small red onion, loads of mushrooms, 2 green chillis, 3 sausages/chipolatas, 1 tomato and 3 bacon medallions, salt and pepper, and of course a lot of cheese and the eggs and cream! Does that sound okay for low carbing? Was dead hndy this morning for a quick brekkie at my desk.

Thanks to all those who've made it and posted ingredients ideas and pictures!

    Puds x
Really should be doing some work...

    Hi Peeps

well today i`ve done the opposite of Sistercas ^^^

    I`ve been like this miss-piggy-instyle.jpg:o:o:o

There was unfortunately for me free food at w*rk and someone also sent out for krispy kremes
You would not believe what i`ve eaten - i can hardly believe it myself and now i`ve got self inflicted tummyache :o
Soooo i`ve fasted for a few hours overnight and eaten for about 8 :D

Never mind - i`ll restart tomorrow - or most likely later today, i`m not going to eat until late tomorrow as its my day off YAY!!!!:j and i have errands to run etc so i`ll set off nice and early with no brekkie.

Sheila - Hope everything goes well today!

Sistercas - Lol at your cat, i think that most cats are crackers lol, all ours have been.

Gloomendoom - Could you post for example everything that MrsD ate yesterday?

Sofababe - I have long spells like that too, it takes some willpower not to give up and i don`t seem to have that much myself lately :o

I`m going to make myself a nice hot cuppa and have an hour on the sofa. Nice hot shower and i`ll be good as new :D

Have a great afternoon peeps

Sunny - I know how you feel. It is my colleagues birthday today. One of the girls baked a chocolate cake for her and somehow a rather large piece jumped into my mouth :(. That was about three hours ago and now I just want to sleep (sugar always does that to me). Aaarrrghhhhh
Why, oh why, do I always sabotage myself ????
