All the talk of cooking has rubbed off on me. Was in the kitchen for ages tonight. Most unlike me! Was making [STRIKE]a mess[/STRIKE] pancakes: theirs and mine. Mine were a little odd, but quite nice, and amazingly filling!

Also made cereal 'bars'/flapjack for the boys' lunch boxes for the week. I add random stuff to the oats; such as raisins/currants/sultanas, seeds, left over cereal (those powdered bits in the bottom of the bag/box), bran, bits of dried fruit, coconut, etc..

Finally got round to making Mercy's Mexican fudge. Interesting. Tasted a little whilst hot. Rather nice. Curious to see what it will be like when cool..

Might add a picture if my phone ever stops recharging

I suppose I make time at the expense of other things one might say I should be doing :o

The thing is, I've become antisocial, introverted, ridiculously self conscious, low confidence, poor self esteem, etc. etc..
I feel that being selfish and making it a priority to look/feel better will have a postitive affect not only on me, but also on my family: me: my life: our life.

I see an improvement already: less embarassed to be seen acting the fool with my kids in public, running around, etc.. Have more energy and feel brighter, stronger and better (not constantly but more than before), more able to cope with some of life's upsets than I have been..

It's not an effort any more either. It's something I look forward to now

    Sorry, rambling...

P.S: Oh yeah, Mazzers just reminded me about your crazy little cat Sunny. Made me laugh reading about it. I like your phrasing. Put a nice grin on my face (well, not sure it was nice, but it felt nice hehe)

hannoja - don't think that I was criticising you, I admire anyone who can exercise the way that you do as I
    a) don't have the willpower as I am always tired
    b) have health problems which make it difficult which I why I am getting an exercise bike. Now I just need the willpower to use it every day:D

By the way, you sound a lovely person so don't put yourself down

mazzers - hope that you are not suffering from the sugar this morning.

Since trying the flax and the almond pancake last night I have bad wind and stomach pains. Has anyone else had this or is it me?

    Have a good day everyone:wave:

Oh no, don't tell me that when I've just spent £5 on a bag of flax:eek::rotfl: It must be the fibre going to work on your gut:(

Flax/almond doesn't affect me, maybe it's something you will adjust to.

Still gutted about the sugary drink :(

That's okay. I didn't think you were. I guess I just got a bit carried away with justifying the exercise, because sometimes it does seem to 'scoff' a good chunk of my day  (especially if I faff around trying to find/decide on which youtube video I feel like doing today) :o It's normally only about an hour though, so not too bad. Dog walk has to be done anyway of course :)

Haven't had flax yet, but I believe it can 'keep you regular', so I imagine it's something to do with that... ;)

Oh Mazzers :( Never mind. Don't kick yourself too hard. Pick yourself up, dust yourself down and start all over again :D

Eep, nearly out of time. Right, yesterday went like this:

    B: 2 frankies 'n' Colac <yawn> (1.4g)
L: Prawn cocktail <YAWN> with a bowl full of lettuce: 2 big Romaine leaves (~5g)
T: 2 or 3 lc whey pancakes with Splenda & lemon juice (~4g)

O: Tea, coffee, ~4 pints water/T, s/f gum, nibble of cheese, couple of nibbles of 'their' pancakes (OH put cheese on his whilst cooking.. Weird! - tasted quite nice though). (~3g)

    Total carbs: ~15g

Exercise: ~20 mins Interval training whilst walking chops*, hour's Callanetics.

*I stop if someone comes towards me walking their dog or cycling, so had a couple of inconvenient pauses. Hopefully it still counts/works though.

Sweetener: the kind you put a little 'pill' of in your coffee. OH got Splenda which I liked: nice big 'pills', but he prefers Sweetex, which is saccharin.. We're using Hermesetas atm: dunno what's in those.. Hmm.. had some Candarel in the [STRIKE]carb[/STRIKE]
car , but don't know where they've gone..Before I start 'researching', any thoughts on which is best/healthiest/least harmful..? Want to avoid aspartame, and possibly saccharin too I think...

I much prefer to eat low carb as I have more energy etc. Just have strong cravings for chocolate unfortunately which make me binge now and again. Interesting to see what you all eat.

Hi bluenose.. come post some of your recipes :)

That flapjack looks lovely Hann, i love stuff like that, im gonna make the luxury l/c nutcake today.

A simple but useful tip is to cut up and wrap things in foil (value foil really cheap) when cool and store in fridge/cupboard ready to grab, especially if your running late, even if it's just to eat in the car on the way out to the shops, i've found this so convenient lately.

Some good links btw, i am going for a mosey now.

    Hi Peeps

well i got weighed three times this morning *scratches chin* i thought at first that the scales were broken but i seem to have misplaced 3lb :D How that has happened i`m not sure but i think that after much talking about doing it i may have confused my bod and got it out of the routine and now i`ve managed to lose again :j
After some of the things that i`ve eaten recently i was expecting to see a gain so that was a nice surprise today :D I just need a couple more pounds to get below the stone mark on the scales :D

Hanno - You sound like you have tons of energy and really enjoy the exercise, i wish i could be more like that but i struggle for time badly. Glad to hear that it helps you feel more positive etc, must admit that i`m very antisocial at times. If i didn`t have to go to w*rk i would probably go weeks without seeing anyone apart from DH - tbh i`m not bothered though lol my days are pretty full of good things even without going to the bad place that pays me :D Apart from on here there are very few peeps that share my interests and that makes me worse too :D I`m lazy in that i find that the older i get the more i can`t be bothered :o

Wassat?? Is it me being a bit thick or have you found some new special fat busting food that i don`t know about Hanno?

    *taps foot* :D:D

*Shoves cat into carrier and wonders who to send it to* :D Lol seriously i could never part with her, she's a great little character :D

Oh, and I went into H&B today and got some ground flax seed. What I'm going to do with it I'm not sure:o

I'm using mine in the bread recipe, in small amounts it doesn't seem to have any effect on me apart from to keep me "regular" :D

Aw Mazzers - Sorry to hear about the mistake with the shake :( At least it wasn`t something bulky too so you shouldn`t gain. As hanno said put it behind you and all will be well.

Today brekkie has been my fave bacon, buttered scramblies and shrooms, dinner was a beef and pastrami sandwich on lc bread with the delicious hot horseradish sauce.
Tea will be?? Guess who forgot to take the meat out of the freezer *rolls eyes* Its out now but doubt it will be thawed and its not something that i`d like to microwave so i`ll decide what to do later.

Off to feed the crazy bunch of animals now.

Have a good afternoon gang
