cheers.gif To Dan on the offer of matched betting help. I had been so focused on the first home match being next week, that I had completely forgotten that the rest of the season starts today. I need to fish out my notes and do some dummy runs to check if I have my head together. Sorry I've not been around, Gwen, but I should be ok this week - OH now has no work at all until Friday, so I can prise him off the computer. Are you up for it too, nicnacnoo (sorry, couldn't resist ;))?

    .

im definately interested in this, im quite good at numbers and spreadsheets so hoping to get my head round it quick. I'll be doing it for me and Bowski but dont ask her anything shes rubbish...lol. I had a quick look at the board on Friday, looked at step one and it didnt seem too daunting to me so im gonna have a good read of it again tonight and see if it sinks in. I'm sure we'll be calling on Dan for some help too.

Me and Bowski had a great time in St Helens yesterday, N-Dubz were chavtastic! and we are now new fans of hip hop:dance: NAA NAA NII!!...lol

    Hi everybody :D

Only just surfacing :o feeling a bit hungover after my trip to Wales

That must be why I'm always hungover, cos I live in Wales :)

I'll be in the pub tonight (see previous comment) but will answer any questions when I get in, or tomorrow. Numbers and spreadsheets are what matched betting's all about so you'll be fine; what it isn't about is knowledge of sport which is good for me as I haven't got a Scooby Doo!

    Hey All

I'm back and both me and Cornwall just about survived...

    Highlights of weekend:

Arriving at party wearing my dress back to front (Ziggles will feel my pain on this one)
Taking part in a mass plate-spinning event - several glasses of cava down the line
Making a ton of new bessie mates on the dancefloor
Doing my lovely friends make-up for the party
    Seeing the Eden project
Fish dinner in Mevagissy (they list the boats that the catch came in off - loving local eating!)
Paddling this morning in the sea
Watermelon daiquiries on the train to Cornwall and white wine spritzers on the way back (accompanied by trash mags)
Having a car disco on the A30
Having caricature done at the party

    Lowlights of the weekend:

Freezing my a**e off in the tent...just a sleeping bag turns out to be flipping freezing even in August (we wore all our clothes the second night)
Not being able to sleep due to hard floor
Not being able to sleep thanks to snoring of camping buddy
Scary near miss on country road
Not finding a petrol station near the return point for our hire car....dreading the 'refuelling charge' they are going to slap on me.....
Having to laugh at my caricature - not exactly the most flattering thing ever.....
Not managing to fit in a cream tea

Overall totally amazing and fab weekend. We laughed so much and had such a great time. Work is going to be hard this week!!!

I've managed to read all the posts I've missed and here goes (hope I remember everyone)

Sarah - double boo and hiss for your week. Such a blow but sometimes you have to pay out money for essentials and this spending isn't due to anything you have done wrong - it just happens. It is of course a complete nightmare. I really hope it isn't the head gasket - that happened on my car once and it wasn't good. Good luck for this week

Gwen - yay for wimbledon ballot - fingers crossed for you! Hope you feel a bit less bleurgh this week

SBC - Hooray for your achievements!!! Anyone who manages to study and work at the same time deserves a massive round of applause.

Dan - wow, thanks for your generosity re: matched betting. I'm now thinking I should be looking at it - would love to get my house deposit a bit sooner!!

Ziggles - I'm sure you had a good time with your cousin!!

Shoegal - wales sounds like fun - was it for a special occasion??

Bowski & Nicnacnoo - hooray for music festivals! and thanks for the camping tips which I didn't take and learnt my lesson big time! Bowski - welldone on letting mini-Bowski take the train on her own. Those kind of things are big milestones!

Carole - Yup packing is horrendous but having a wardrobe full of lovely clean clothes to pick from while on hols is soooo worth it!

TDQO - get on with it! Once you start it off you'll find it isn't so bad (says she, the mistress of procrastination!!)

Lula - hope you had a good weekend? Running through with rose and hula hoops I hope!

To everyone else - hope you had a fab weekend and my final note:

DOMINIC WEST IS MINE - I GOT THERE FIRST
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

He's got a girlfriend now, but the way he's behaved since hasn't been very good. Put it this way, if I discovered my boyfriend was behaving like that behind my back I'd not be too happy and I keep having remind him that it's not really appropriate. That really doesn't help me though, as my faith in men is already at an all time low, without being confronted by somebody who regularly sends inappropriate emails/texts whilst apparently in a serious relationship. I'm a bit worried, I may have been turned off men for life. I really need a fabulous one to turn up, sweep me off my feet (preferably to Venice) and restore my faith in men.

I totally understand where you're coming from here. A bloke that's been trying it on with me recently has only just got married and he's been trying it on since his stag do!! He managed to get hold of my mobile number and asked if I want him to come round during the week 'just for a crack coz even though I fancy you like mad I know you're not really all that bothered' I dread to think how his wife would feel if she knew he was texting things like that. I maybe shouldn't text him back but I get on with him fine when it's general chit chat and if he says anything along those lines I just ignore him.
One of my friends lastnight said I should get him round and think of myself for a change because nobody would care if it was me that was with him! I know what she;s saying but replied with 'I am thinking of myself and that's why I'm not letting him come round' My morals just mean too much to me to sleep with married/attached men. He is fit though
I have definately been put off men for life!

Sarah I hope you have a much better week! Aren't cars just a pain  My window still needs to be fixed and I don't know when I'll ever be able to afford to get it done.

Make-up and Shoe Gal, glad you's both had a fab weekend! Can't beat weekends away :D Me and Nicnacnoo are camping this weekend coming, and I can't wait! I just hope it's no too hot, I hate waking when it's sweltering  Although I only have myself to blame as I sleep in my sleeping bag on an airbed with my quilt. Plus I wear p.j's with a hoodie and socks to tuck the bottom of my jama's into :D (sleeping like that came in handy when I ended up with a randomer in my tent the last time I went camping :rotfl:)

SBC... I don't use my tesco clubcard and never will, is there a code or anything on the receipt that I could send to you to transfer? I'd have thought there'd be something like that for people that forget their clubcard. I don't go too often but every little helps n all that.

TDQ... I hope you've managed to get a few things sorted by now! once you start you'll soon get into the swing of it. most the time it's just the thinking about it!

I am doing rubbish at everything at the moment and need to get my backside into gear. Although I haven't managed an early night tonite it's because I helped my Mam out earlier so didn't get on here till late and then I've had a fair bit of catching up to do. But from tomorrow i'm going to be having early nights all week with a book.

Tomorrow I'm going to see my friend in Lancaster, it's going to cost me about the same in petrol as the train so I've decided I'm going to treat myself and go on the train. I'm going to relax and read my book in peace :D I can't wait, I'm so easily pleased :D

    Hope everyone's ok

Thanks Bowski, I inquired about that before when my parents offered to do the same & the only way it would work would be if I took the receipt to customer services & said that I'd forgot my clubcard when I made the purchase.

    Morning all,

glad to hear that everyone seems to have had fun over the weekend :D

I did family stuff on saturday followed by much hedgetrimming & slicing throught the cable ( again :o) an evening with a friend, a curry & the christening of the new floor with red wine :rolleyes:.

Sunday morning we did allotmenteering & came home with beans, courgettes, potatoes, rocket & apples & grazed on rapsberries whie we were there. In the afternoon we had a large fire & burned all the clippings & prunings & stray twigs etc. The garden is now almost looking like a garden again ... just need to to cut the grass :(

I also let DD go to the local shop by herself ... followed by my friend ;)

TDQ - Get your @rse in gear now ... The girls of the British Isles need you :D

    laters

Makeup I'm not surprised you were cold camping, you described my sleeping outfit but I usually have a hot water bottle as well.
My sweetcorn is coming through now, I'm so excited I didn't think it would grow at all.
Dan I've tried reading the matched betting thread, and i think the reason I don't get it is cos I know absolutly nothing about betting, is there a dummy guide?

You don't really have to know about betting, I'd only ever put a few bets on in my life before starting matched betting. Have you read this thread? http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=325861

    hi.gifAfternoon all

whistle.gif"Underground, overground, wombling free, the Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we..." whistle.gif

Day 1 of wombling for a new phone connection has dawned positively. By 11.30 we had:
    • made two bin bags of rubbish
    • filled a large case full of clothes to eBay (about 20 items)
    • made a box of carbooting/jumble sale/charity shop stuff
    • relocated a large collection of mugs to the kitchen (all clean, so no idea why they had migrated two flights up )
    • relocated the bedroom floor below OH's clothes
    • cleaned and dusted all along one side of the bedroom
    • opened up a new bookshelf along the top of the wardrobes to cope with our excessive reading habits
    • found two wedding presents we had *ahem* misplaced
    • found my favourite scarf that had gone awol
The house at the moment is like one of those slidey puzzles you used to have when you were a kid. In order to make the letters into a word, you need to move everything around in sequence...which is why we are starting on the top floor to make room for stuff from the first floor, which will eventually clear our sitting room by the 21st. I guess this is also counting as exercise, which goes someway to excuse the large slice of cake and bowl of strawberries I have just consumed... pig.gif

makeup - It sounds as though that was a mighty chilly night in the tent: I am imagining you something like this... snowglobefrosty.gif Seems like you still had a great weekend, and I hope you are treating yourself to a proper Cornish (or even Devon, but then I'm biased) cream tea now you are back.

eco - mmmm sweetcorn :D Why did I not think of planting that! Our tomatoes are looking good, but desperately want some sun. The plum tree is so full of fruit that the branches are bending; hope we get to eat some before the garden critters take their pick.

Lula - There was a good reason why you went for the painted floor! When are you off on holiday? Can't be long now before you are onvacation.gif.

I'll be looking at the matched betting intro guide again over the next couple of days. smilies-30323.pngwhenever I try to get my head around this (and me a former accountant too :o, so spreadsheets and numbers are not exactly strange to me).
