The house at the moment is like one of those slidey puzzles you used to have when you were a kid. In order to make the letters into a word, you need to move everything around in sequence...which is why we are starting on the top floor to make room for stuff from the first floor, which will eventually clear our sitting room by the 21st. I guess this is also counting as exercise, which goes someway to excuse the large slice of cake and bowl of strawberries I have just consumed... pig.gif

That is exactly the trouble I am having. took two bags to the charity shop today and "moved" stuff around in the loft. Doesn't seem to have made an awful lot of difference:cool:. Need to sort out the conservatory first but need to move stuff to the shed  to do that but need to have a hippo bag to do the shed which can't happen till THursday..................

Any way hello all, sounds like weekends have been fun. sorry about the car Sarah and apologies to all who I have left out, got an awful headache.

    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Evening all,

Hollyberry - love your description of the slidey house puzzle :rotfl: it's just like that here too :o. Having slid everything out of the living room ... my bedroom is now chocka full with all the excess. This time next week I should be at my holiday destination :j.

As I sit here sedately sipping my wine I am so glad that I no longer have to get dressed & made up like a ho & stagger the streets on a friday & saturday night with no thought for my personal safety or dignity; unlike the females of Oldham as per the Panorama doc just on. Ok, I know that Panorama is like the Daily Mail of tv land but it happens everywhere & I actually find it really really tragic that that's the best entertainment that people can come up with.

Maybe I'm just a snob, but if you're going to flash your bits at anyone, then why not get paid for it & work as a stripper or lap dancer .

Hi all, car is now fixed, was £200 which is still "ouch" but as I was worried they were going to write it off and I was going to have to get a new car I am happy with that. I will need a new car at some stage though. I am trying to keep this one going as long as possible but eventually I am going to have to admit defeat and that will mean another loan:eek:.

Has been an expensive day as I paid £80 towards the electricity bill and also did my shopping, £42:eek: but was reduced from £59 with bogofs and free delivery code and included 4 bottles of wine to stop me going to the shop for wine and buying rubbish to go with it, hopefully I won't need to do another shop for a couple of weeks at least. Also got 160 points and went through pigsback so should get some points there too.

hollyberry, yay to finding favourite scarf and presents:jI love it when decluttering uncovers lost or forgotten fabby things:D

make up, your weekend sounds fab, boo to being cold at night thoughicon9.gif

Dan, I have read the matched betting info several times and it makes absolutely no sense to me:o In fact it makes me feel quite dim. :o Is there an idiot's guide and also I am a member of a few betting sites even though I don't use them as I joined through casback sites, does that mean I can't do it as I think it involves joining sites to get the cashback to start with and I've done that already.

Lula, well done on productive day and letting dd to the shop by herself, what a shame about wine stain.icon9.gif Did I read that you are thinking of doing a £100 accessories challenge next year?

Hope everyone has had a good day. :D

PLEASE REMAIN CALM & SEATED, RUMOURS OF A SHOE CHALLENGE ARE JUST THAT, RUMOURS :D

Glad your car situation not too grim sarah :j

I have been contemplating a new challenge for next year. It seems that i have managed to sneak around the clothes challenge rules by feeding my shopping habit with things like shoes & bags etc. The whole point of the clothes challenge was to encourage me to stop spending, lose weight & make use of what I already have ... I've only lost 2lbs ( put on the other 6 that I lost ) & because i dont want to buy new clothes in my current larger size then I've been buying shoes & bags as someone once said that they dont make you look fat :p:D

Aplogies for possbile spelling, grammar & punctuation anomalies - on second glass of wine & cant be bothered to go back & correct as i normally do :o

I need to spend less money. I buy too much food, I eat too much food, I buy too many 'treats' , be this wine, clothes, shoes or bags & it is a not very closely guarded secret that i have in fact increased my personal debt by nearly £1,000 - although half of this is due to DD1.

My financial year starts on September 1st & I have just not suffered at all in the last year. We have not been cold, hungry or unclothed. DD has been on every school & Brownie trip this year, done every club she wants & we are having a holiday abroad when many of her classmates with 2 parents & 2 incomes are not :o. I am a spoiled fat old trout & thorougly ashamed of myself.

If I am to ever get rid of these debts then i need to make my life a lot harsher.

    Good luck for tomorrow SBC

Thank goodness:j I could possibly manage a month at £100 but I suspect any thread along that lines would not be seen as moneysaving. :D

Sarah - Compared to what it could have been, that is great news about the car. Plus a prudent approach to wine, of course.

Good luck for tomorrow SBC - Paws crossed.

Lula - Even prison isn't meant to be punishment, y'know...call it financial rehabilitation, or perhaps (and preferably) slowly does it. ;) And please don't call yourself a "spoiled fat old trout"; not only is this untrue, but it is bringing back horrible - although amusing - memories of the "woman that does" at the cottage we rented for our honeymoon. As noted in OH's diary: "Met an old trout. Burnt out my clutch. Bed missing all but three slats. Told to sleep in single beds. Happy Honeymoon."

Off now for a nice long soothing shower; I think I creak too much for a bath. Back tomorrow for your next scheduled broadcast of Orinoco's battle against stuff overtaking the house. :p
