Just finished scoffing my 1st attempt at a macaroni cheese pie. Put a bit too much cheese sauce in I think as the filling was a bit runny but it tasted really good so I think I'll keep trying to get it right.

I decided to apply for an internal vacancy at work today. Technically its a demotion but it pays the same as I'm on now for a lot less hassle & I'll get to spend a lot more time at home, especially evenings so I'll have more time to do my Open Uni work & still have a semblance of a social life.

I have just logged onto Asda online, only to see a message at the top of the screen "Cookie Detecting". Is it just my guilt, or am I being reminded to monitor the content of my trolley? :o

Dex and Eco - nice to see you both. Ziggles - that sounds like snazzy hair (we slightly gingers of all variations will unite ;)). Welcome Carole and damnsam, and welcome home (albeit temporarily) auntie makeup.

Still no sign of OH's charger. He is so good at losing things, I think he should be scientifically examined to see if he can manage to create antimatter, or whatever it is called. He called o2 today, and will be able to have a free upgrade. No doubt the orginal charger will then turn up somewhere odd. At least it's not his wallet this time (all cards cancelled, emergency cash float sorted, then the wallet turned up at his mum's on the table he normally leaves it when there...).

We still have the snufflies, so are staying home. No high temperature, so it's unlikely to be the swine flu, but I'm still pretty achy and have managed about 2 hours sleep a night for the past couple of nights. I have been prowling the ghostly corridors of MSE at 3am, and playing copious games of Civilisation (yes, I will conquer the world eventually).

    Good evening my lovelies,

welcome to caroleM - it's mad, bad & dangerous here but OMG do we have fun :rotfl:

I think I'm suffering from shine flu at the moment . I keep whipping out my eco cloth & bottle of squirty water & wiping surfaces, it's very worrying but probably better for me than eating cookies or fishing.

I'm currently treating my tastebuds to a dose of delicious rose. I decided I need some alcohol before the big decorating venture so whipped into the co op on friday night only to discover that they had a promotion on ... bottles of decent quality red, white & rose all half price at £3.99 :D. Well, I've never been one for colour prejudice so happily grabbed one of each; the white was good, the rose is slipping down a treat with a pack of mini cheddars & I'll let you know about the red when I get there ... ;)

As well as cleaning the bathroom & the bits of painting & working, I've also done 2 loads of washing, cleaned the bathroom & the kitchen, done the washing up & put all the stuff away, changed the sheets on both beds & leered at the window cleaner for £6 :rotfl:

Oh, my glass is mysteriously empty  must get a refill ...

thats not fair! but...you dont need it do you! i can tell your'e thinking of buying it cos of the lost knife!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

I think this is why we're all on here....cos that is the first thing that went through my head too!!!

Welcome to the new members of the thread.

And hurrah for Ziggles joining the ginger gang...I like to call myself my auburn!

My day was fine, work a touch dull and did a tesco shop today.

No news on my imminently arriving niece / nephew ...I'm too impatient!!

LMM - I read your thread yesterday. It is a really tough thing to go through and I know this is a cheesy thing to hear but things really will get better for you and with time you will get over this. You just have to have faith, good friends and plenty of dairy milk.

Having a baby is such a big deal and can be such an important thing for someone that to carry on in a relationship with such different aims would be so very hard on you.

It sounds like you have a tough spirit and resilience as well as a fab bunch of friends and family and I hope you get through this soon.
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

    Sounds like a great job!!

Good luck with it all (and with your macaroni pie attempts!!)

Make that a brace of strawberry blondes (love it too!). :j

I now have a craving for a macaroni pie AND a bag of mini cheddars. I have a big bad cheese vice...:o May settle for wandering downstairs for a quick inspection of the cheese drawer and maybe a teeny tiny sampling.
