Exactly. Get it and enjoy it:D I have several lovely silver necklaces for the same reason. If people with boyfriends can get little gifts, so can we. I also intend to have platinum ones later:D
I'm going to. I'm not decided yet if it will be a birthday present or a Christmas present or maybe a debt-free present, but I will get it. I called up on Friday because the jeweller has taken it off his website and I was worried that they didn't do it anymore, but they do. Just have to give them a few weeks when I order it for them to make it up. Phew!Hello
Lula - Hurrah for Killers. I went to live 8 and afterwards was in Maccy D's and Brandon came in!!! I'd got an old style disposable camera though and used all the pics up so too late for a pic with him!!!!
Sounds really amazing though, I love those big outdoor gigs - especially when weather good.
Holly - I watched the Specials too and just thought they were fantastic, I really must get their album, I know so many of their songs! I really really really want to go to Glastonbury, I know I would love it and I can get over the mud and the toilets for sure! It is only for a weekend!!I hope next year I can rally some friends round.
Gwen - you seem to have sorted out lots over the weekend - hurrah!
To the hungover ladies - carbs carbs carbs and diet coke
Pink - wowza on the major pay off this month. Definitely big pat on the back for that one!
Your trip sounds ace, makeup. I'm so jealous of you meeting Brandon. He is gorgeous. Did you see him on Jonathan Ross the other week? Seemed really nice too!
I've never heard of The Specials - call myself a music fan? I need to sort that out. *Runs off the check out youtube*.
Oh definitely diet coke for the hangover. In fact, I think diet coke cures most ills. Headache, hangover, stomach ache...everything.
Yes, had quite a productive weekend, but I need lots more to get myself on track. Not enough time!I guess, I still feel guilty buying treats but otherwise will end up going around feeling like pants, my treat budget is clothes/make-up. I'm really trying to hold myself back this month:D:o
Don't! Or try not having a treat for 1-2 months and you'll find yourself going stir crazy and remember why you need a budget for it!
Edited to say - apparently I can't use multi-quote after all and after seeing that girl drumming with Bat For Lashes, I really want to learn to play the drums!!Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
gwen, go back to edit your last post and put a / after the [ inand it should fix itself.

Morning all
After yesterday, I think I can call myself experienced in self-gifting. I had a happy half hour in Wallis, emerging with two tops (one pink/mauve, one black) and an enormous green bag for my hols.Plus a £7 pair of Sketchers from TK Maxx, so I am even happier. I was going to feel guilty, and then I thought of all the days I spent slogging my guts out for it, and decided to feel happy instead.
Pink - That's a brilliant repayment - nice work! :T
Gwen - If you're YTing The Specials, try Ghost Town, Gangsters, & Too Much, Too Young.
makeup - in the sea? You're a brave woman! Glad you had a good weekend.
Lula - I see that you are throwing the tiddlers back.
Hope all the heads are better this morning. Glad you had fun.0 -
G'day all, my friend arrives in 30mins, I can't wait! Will be so nice to not sleep on my own for a change. She's exactly the type of bouncy energetic person I need to drag me out of my hole too so I'm sure we'll get up to all sorts of mischief in the next 6 days
I do a form of self-gifting except it's always practical stuff... I HATE spending money when I'm skint except on neccessities (like alcomahol) so I really have to build up to buying a pair of jeans or a pair of trainers or something like that. So I treat myself with a pair of motorbike gloves or a hoody when it starts to get cold. The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Otherwise, you are bound to lose a truck, sooner or later. Source: Sergio Cha
I'm sorry for the demon I've become but you should be sorry for the angel you are not.0 -
Oh well, I gave myself a shock today. I was intending to pay off another £600 to the Lloyds card, turns out I can only pay another 150, making it £550 for the month. God knows where the other £450 has gone
I stupidly bought some things, and that has come to about £250 and of course i have realised that £100 is not going to last me for food, washing up things and toiletries.
So the upshot of it is that I have only paid £1002, of which £266 is interest. I'm not in the best of moods and don't really know what to do or what to say about it. It feels like a black hole that isn't closing up.
Why did I spend money on crap? I bought a pair of jeans, a top (came to £58) an underwear set (£27) and the flaming Sex and The City box set £45. The rest seems to have gone on parking, food and mostly into a black hole.
I think the other £200 is accounted for by my thinking how can I live on £200 for the month.
Is £200 a reasonable or stupid amount for food/entertainment? If so, I don't see myself getting very far.0 -
My VERY jammy friend got them and asked me if I wanted to go with her. To be honest, I didn't really have to think about it. I never imagined we'd be as close as we are though. I'll be able to mop the players brows.
She got us tickets to Live Earth a couple of years ago aswell. We generally do something pretty amazing every year and it's usually her that gets the tickets. I'm thinking of setting her a challenge for next year - she has to get tickets to the Brit Awards, lol!
That is amazing. Make the most of itAre you a tennis fan?

Pink, don't be so hard on yourself. £1002 is a fab amount to pay off your debts.
With regard to the shopping can you / do you want to take any of it back? Maybe if you haven't watched the DVDs you can return them? Or maybe you don't want to?
£200 is tight for a month but would just about be doable if you are super tight on things. For example hunting down those people who spend £20 per week on food and things in Oldstyle board. For example do you have stuff in cupboards /freezer that you can make meals out of.
I think it would be very tight and hard and there would be no leeway for a coffee at work or a lunch out or that kind of thing. But it is possible!!
and a huge  for doing so well this month. I know you didn't hit your target but I think you have pretty high standards!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0
