Sensible isn't a word that's normally associated with me, I just knew I wouldn't be able to handle a hangover 2 weeks running, and I'm going out for my brothers birthday at the end of the month and I'll be lucky if I get home, they usually go all night on the beer, so don't anyone panick, yet.

Phew, that's a relief! If people start being sensible on nights out they might start expecting me to join in  I usually have to be reminded that I'm not 18 anymore :rotfl::rotfl:

    Hi Pink Twirl
Sounds like you may be choosing the wrong people to be friends with. I may not have anybody nearby but my friends that live around the country are going out of their way to spend time with me and make sure I am ok. I am concious that I haven't been the most fun recently and was worried that I would test their patience. Fortunately the tablets seem to be kicking in so I am feeling a little brighter about the future, also fortunately the worst thing I could do at the moment is meet a man but no doubt give it a few months and I will be wondering where all the decent ones are also.

Eco - I love walking and am about to start training for the 3 Peaks next year. It was my friends idea, not sure how clever an idea it is though!!

I'm just thinking, if I can't create a good social life, and I haven't since I was at university then a) how will I meet a guy and, going on my ex, b) why would he want to spend time in my company anyway?

Perky thoughts Pink, None of us know the future we might meet some one we might not, enjoy life, If some of you friends are prats (as are some of mine) then go do some stuff on your own.

I am going to go to the Cinema by myself - am determinded!! and eat lunch alone too. some where in London.

Take a risk (nothing dangerous just fun;))

To be honest, I'm just going to accept things they way they are. I have more tolerance now and I'm just going to keep happy having a good job, going to the gym, enjoying red wine (hic) and having nice passing interactions with people. Of course multiple bars of chocolate as well! I'm not going to put my happiness in the hands of people that let me down all the time. Usually something like this weekend would leave me feeling so down but instead I have done loads! I am a good person, and if people don't like me or my company, then that's that, there is nothing I can do. I'm friendly, I hold doors open for people, like to have fun and help others and if that isn't enough then tough, it's enough for me.

No, I did speak to one "friend" about it and all she said was "I never said I would be available every weekend for you!" I wasn't expecting that! Two guys I went to uni with, I tried to arrange a night out with them, never happened. Another girl I have known for 3 months keeps saying "we need to have a night out!" but I gave her 3 dates for weekends to pick from and she didn't bother, even when I saw her and mentioned it again, she said nothing.

I'm obviously just !!!! company. I have had a poor social life for the past 8 years, even when I lived with my ex boyfriend he preferred to play his computer games than spending an evening in my company. I'm obviously just !!!!.

    I have tried.

Oh Pink, you really have tried! I think you have been incredibly unlucky and just picked the wrong people

I'm sure you are fun company, look how easily you chat to everybody on here - I know it's different online but personality is personality :D

Don't want to sound cliched and say have you joined things as I know I would never have the b*lls to join something on my own :o so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for lovely workmates in your new job :A

I've done Whernside and Ingelborough, Whernside is a bit of a route march but the views at the top of both are fantastic, was going to do Pen-y-gent the other week but it was too misty and has it'a a bit of a scramble coming down thought I'd better not do it, I'm that clumsy I'd be the one with a broken leg or something, but loads of people do the 3 peaks challenge so at least there's plenty of company on the way.

Forgot to say if any of the newbies are into walking and can drive to Yorkshire, Peak District and Lakes I go walking often and also don't mind window shopping in Meadowhall or Trafford park, it's a Saturday out, and we can use vouchers and stuff to make it cost effective.

Thanks - but I an scared of the concept of any walking that isn't around shops - I just don't get it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yeah, I have tried things. I keep feeling sightly icky thinking "these people would not be socialising with me out of choice" but I am friendly and polite and I enjoy playing sports.

It's not so much about me picking the wrong people, it's just no matter how much I try, or how little I try, with anybody, it still always turns out the same. I guess I'm just missing something that makes it all right.

Thanks for the nice things you have said though :o x
