I am Ok, feeling a bit sad over a friend's troubles but not too bad. Not done much today but managed to get to the gym so quite proud of myself! I don't know how you manage to go so often, I find it a real struggle, although I actually enjoy it once I get there
Not going to inflict my story on the newbies, nothing very exciting, but it's all in my diary thread if anybody wants to know
Off to make some nachos for dinner (in the 'whoops' in Asda, very MSE!) and then get psyched up for The Apprentice Final - I am an addict (sad, I know)
And on the shoe front - super high, super fab gold wedges!!! I am a lost cause
To be honest, if I didn't go to the gym, I would be sitting in a room in my dad's flat, trapped on my own, bored and lonely. I've got crap friends that don't invite me to things, and hardly know anyone here, and I do see family. It doesn't do much for the self-esteem really!0 -
:grouphug: for those having pants weekends... I've had a lovely one. Friend came over yesterday (fortunately she's the kind of friend who doesn't mind there still being pins in one of the curtains
- who knew hand sewing took so bloody long!), we went out for dinner with another mate and then into town today. So have had a good gossip and a moan where necessary and a nice relaxed amble round town. And offer of a cuddle from a rather cute barman in the pub at lunchtime. So long since anybody's been that direct I was a bit taken aback but think we might have to go back there next week
!
So am now doing another section of curtain hem (am going to get very bored with this very soon) while singing along to the radio and eating chocolate biscuits. Me rock n' roll too :rotfl:.
And I have three dresses on order from Bravissimo which I know is naughty but I will wear them for work and they just look fab because they FIT properly. And the next person who says 'you have to kiss a few frogs' is in serious danger of losing a vital organ :rotfl::rotfl:
This winds me up too. I mean, says who exactly? Why? And what's the male equivalent? Do they just get to kiss princesses until they find one who likes them?

Well, I've got no chance of ever meeting anyone now. I don't get included in anything by my friends or acquaintances, therefore no opportunities to meet people, so I'm stuffed really. I would really love to get married and have kids, I don't want to be buying clothes and meals for one forever, but that may well just have to be, as there isn't really another option. Regarding those poor people in last weeks plane crash, the alternative isn't really that attractive.

Hi Rosa - sounds like you've had a lovely weekend - and real friends will never mind about pins in the curtains :rotfl::rotfl:
Pink - remember, nothing is forever. Meals for one are not your future! You are tackling your debts and won't be at your Dad's forever, it's just a means to an end! If your friends don't include you could there be a reason? You're not giving off some kind of n 'busy, busy' vibe are you? Or why not arrange something and invite them?Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Hugs to everyone who had a carp weekend, mine was really busy yesterday, went to Scarborough, then when I got back went out for a ex's 40th, had a lazy day today, cos I was shattered but not hungover for once I didn't over do it, I must be learning something long may it last.
Hello to the newbies, Summer I've read your thread and you've had loads of useful replies, it's amazing how a litle bit of help saves a lot of money, I got my sis hooked on this site and she's cleared her od it was £1500, she's onto her 0% credit card now, her grocery bill was way too high tho and she's changed her ways, so keep reading the threads and you'll get there one day.0 -

No, I did speak to one "friend" about it and all she said was "I never said I would be available every weekend for you!" I wasn't expecting that! Two guys I went to uni with, I tried to arrange a night out with them, never happened. Another girl I have known for 3 months keeps saying "we need to have a night out!" but I gave her 3 dates for weekends to pick from and she didn't bother, even when I saw her and mentioned it again, she said nothing.
I'm obviously just !!!! company. I have had a poor social life for the past 8 years, even when I lived with my ex boyfriend he preferred to play his computer games than spending an evening in my company. I'm obviously just !!!!.
I have tried.0 -
Forgot to say if any of the newbies are into walking and can drive to Yorkshire, Peak District and Lakes I go walking often and also don't mind window shopping in Meadowhall or Trafford park, it's a Saturday out, and we can use vouchers and stuff to make it cost effective.0

I'm just thinking, if I can't create a good social life, and I haven't since I was at university then a) how will I meet a guy and, going on my ex, b) why would he want to spend time in my company anyway?

PinkTwirl, it will all come with time, there is someone out there for you and you will find him.
I think that maybe we should see where all the singletons are located and who is nearby and maybe swap things to do ideas and stuff.LBM April 2011
