Gwen80- I'm sooo jealous of you getting to watch the finals live! I got into watching Wimbledon last year, and now I'm hooked on tennis- Go Federer!

Btw, if you see the real Gwen Stefani, tell her to smile- she had a face like a slapped bum during the last finals lol!

    Hello all

Sorry I haven't been here in a while. Work has been so bad. Its funny looking at it from this viewpoint (on holiday) I can't really pinpoint why - I am kinda on probation? so being observed once a week and everything is being monitored. In terms of my marks I am doing well (2, 2/3, 1/2) so in theory I should be ok but waiting for the marks and the feed back is awful.

I am the same Buffy - I think it is just the feeling of being watched and having someone judge you on your work. I hate with a passion going for appraisals and the like. I had one in March and was really worried about it - which was stupid really as I hadn't had any negative feedback on a day to day basis and I didn't have anything that I had totally messed up or anything! I had a really good appraisal and was so pleased in the end. But I was panicking big time beforehand.

If you are getting good marks and are confident in your work then you will be fine and it sounds as if it is going well for you as you said yourself that 'in theory' there is no problem and so you need to be rational about this - you WILL do well and you WILL be fine ...

I have to say though, this Simon Cowell thing is very worrying......(although he could clear your debts for you!)

I think we all get 'single' wobbles from time to time.... but really new babies is often one for the ladies really. I don't think men always have the inclination to hear the birth tales (can be a bit squeamish) - of course I'm being a bit sweeping in my statement but you know what I mean.

Ossireo - CONGRATS on the new job! What are you doing?? When do you start??

Gwen - how about waiting until there are some vouchers for next or Oasis. Quite often one of the mags like Grazia have a 20% voucher which would make the jacket more affordable.

I went to Wimbledon once years and years ago - didnt' really plan well though as had to queue for ages to get in (was going for the day entry thing) but I did love the atmosphere. The final is going to be amazing!!!

I went to a concert tonight, my friend is in the local orchestra and I got a free ticket in exchange for half an hours worth of box office - I really enjoyed it! Nothing much planned for tomorrow but Monday meeting a friend. I love the bank hols though!!! Such a shame the next one isn't til August!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Oh dear I am having one of those single girl moments. my friend has just had a baby, I am so chuffed for her but I couldn't see her in hospital cos of work and the fact that I can't drive. She is home now and I can't see her cos well I have family stuff. I would go see her Tuesday but I have work and wednesday I am seeing another friend (also with new baby) and thursday work again. so it will be Friday before I can see her.

You see if I could drive I could do it before or after work but really Oh monday I'll try Monday, I just hate being the only single one. Everyone else shows up with their other halves. I know I am being shallow and the important thing is she has had the baby - he is lovely.

I just feel like I have made such a bloody mess of my life.

    and now I am rambling.

    xx

Aww Buffy, big hugs. You are not being shallow at all. I know exactly what you mean. It is so difficult to explain sometimes how I feel about it. I am happy seeing friends getting married, getting a house together, having babies, etc but I just feel so powerless and left behind. I really can't put it into words properly. I feel like my time is running out and I will miss out on everything. Not just one little bit of it, but every single bit.

And if I do meet someone I won't be able to enjoy it properly because everything will have to happen so fast for me to be able to catch everyone up. Does that make any sense at all? I am running out of time. I do really get myself into a rage about this sometimes, I just feel so cheated.

And don't even get me started on people turning up with their partners. Am sick of doing every single thing on my own all of the time.
