Obviously I don't know you but I don't think you have a problem. It's clear that you aren't prepared to be with any guy and there's a lot to be said for that. What it means is that when you do get started in a relationship, it's more likely to be a good one.

I like this theory - I think it sums me up too!

I see totally where Pink is coming from too. I do the same. So either we're both odd (no chance) or we're utterly normal and brilliant

The thing is, I do have confidence in myself, but it never seems to get my anywhere. I'm so fed up having to worry about having confidence in myself. I just want to be and for it to be enough. I'm fed up worrying about what men want. I'm fed up feeling I must be deficient in something becasuse I don't have one. I've been told there's nothing wrong with my confidence level, but it still seems to make f all difference.

In fact, the only thing that is damaging my confidence over it all is how NOT interested the ones I like are.

You sound like me. All the blokes I just really don't fancy always like me and all the blokes I fancy, don't like me. Have you tried tinternet dating? I've been doing it for about 9 months now and have not got anywhere, while one of my friends is on her 2nd boyfriend from it in the same period of time. Something seems to have happened recently though. I'd pretty much given up with it, decided not to really bother with it anymore and had accepted that I'd be single forever and maybe buy some cats, but now I'm beating nice guys off with a stick. Maybe give net dating a try? It certainly does allow you to cast a wider net or join a walking group or something. There are nice guys out there, its just takes a bit of time. 9 months in my case and then they all come along at once.

I agree with Paul though, you sound a bit choosy. That's not a bad thing at all. I've been told for years by my friends that I'm too fussy, but when you do meet someone it'll last.

hello3.gifyou Fabulous ones (even if you don't feel it at the moment, you are still Fabulous)
Sorry to hear of the outbreak of gaah.gifgoing on at the moment. I've had a bit of it myself, as I had to have a meeting with my (soon to be former) employers this week. However, we have negotiated the date and price of my freedom, and as of 4 June, I am a free woman! :D

Pink - Sorry to hear about the guy with the girlfriend...and that it's made you so sad. You and Eriberri have high standards, and there is absolutely nothing to fear with that. I reckon the grief of a bad whitehorse.giffar outweighs being single.

Gwen - glad to hear it's going well... ;)

In other news, I have spectacularly failed to list anything at all on eBay for the past month. I have examined my feet to see if they have turned into a sloth's claws, but in the absence of any such signs, I can only conclude that I am shamefully lazy and must do better. I didn't even make £5 a day this month, and that will change for May. Time to get the summer clothes out and start listing. snail.gif

I have managed to lose a couple of pounds, but sadly not enough to allow me to stowaway in Shoe Gal's suitcase. ;) Oooooh, you must be so excited! Have fun....
Sending you all big cheer-up bouquet.gif or drink1.gifdepending on your preference. Here's to a fine and happier long weekend.

Good god. You didn't head butt her did you?

Ha ha, no. I think it was just my blood pressure yesterday going sky high and beyond. Feeling a bit better now, I think what happened at work really upset me. It took me a good hour to snap out of it today. That was only after someone made me laugh though.

Yeah, fed up being single but I bet a lot of single people are! Never mind. Was desperately trying to stop myself shopping. Resisted the urge to put £300 worth of clothes on the credit card last night that I have been coveting. I'm so glad I didn't.

    Thanks xx

Yay, well done for resisting the shopping Pink! I'm glad you feel better today.

It is rubbish being single, no doubt about that, but then I'd rather that than be stuck in a rubbish relationship. Take your time and find somebody worthy.

I got my &more card statement yesterday. Higher than I thought. Damn. Really need to get more money coming in and get some of these cards paid off. I'm sat here looking at a beautiful grey and silver scarf I bought from Oasis about a week and a half ago. I haven't worn it yet and I'm really thinking it needs to go back. It's beautiful, but its 20 quid. 20 quid on a !!!!!!!g scarf?? Part of me is a bit gutted because its gorgeous, but it's going back.

PinkTwirl and Gwen - nice work on the management of temptation... ;)

Having spent the whole day waiting for the hire company to come and pick up the mid-life-crisis-mobile (convertible while OH's is being repaired after someone managed to reverse into his at a junction - duh) car.gif, it now seems that they won't be coming until Tuesday. So we are now faced with a sunny weekend with the "broken" car (as so described by the nearly 3 year old godson, who was really upset that it had no roof). However, we are both now paranoid that it will get crunked, as the excess is humungous, so it will probably spend the weekend on the drive.

What have you got planned for the weekend? sunny.gif If it's sunny as promised, I think it might be a case of taking my business plan down to the river for revision in the sunshine. Plus of course a start to those eBay listings for Sunday. To encourage me to get on with things, I am setting myself a task of ten listings for Sunday, and will report back. This will hopefully avoid the re-emergence of the inner sloth. My, that all sounds so exciting, doesn't it? Anyone got any better ideas as to what to do with a sunny, lazy bank holiday weekend? prettyplease.gif
