Grinding noise after wheels were changed (RESOLVED!!!)

  • If that's the case then perhaps the ends of the bolts are rubbing on something at the back of the centre of the disc. Remove the wheel, caliper, and disc, and check the hub for scrapes.

    this sounds logical, they would need to be some length though as there is a good inch gap behind the hub before they would foul, but it is possible.

    Ill be taking it to my mechanic midday friday.

    Am I best of getting the bus tomorrow then? I don't want to make the damage worse!

    I'm just surprised your unwilling to at least jack it up and spin the wheels and see what the problem is. I know a little knowledge is a dangerous thing but..

    Im not unwilling...I just didnt have the time last night to do it... I know what the problem is now and i will be getting it fixed tomorrow morning.

    E-mailed a pic of the alloy to the guy i bought em from and he says they have been attached to the wrong holes. He has the same car as me so they should be the same. Mechanic actually had them fitted by another garage as they have better balancing equipment so they fitted them(muppets). Will be taking the car straight to garage 8am tmoz.
