recovering_spendaholic wrote:eek! The Pleasure Beach - I have horrible memories of one day 20 odd years ago when I was at university and we all went for a day out. A really handsome young pharmacy student who I had the hots for asked me if I wanted to go on the Mad Mouse with him - I said yes and smugly watched the others looking on in envy as we got in the little mouse him sitting behind me. I had forgotten in my excitement that I hate rides and never go on them and the Mad Mouse is evil. About half way through as it whipped round a turn I was violently sick and the windforce blew it all over the handsome young student - it was a dreadful day........ the Mad Mouse is still going I believe but I have never even been back to the Pleasure Beach since that day!!!!
Have we decided where we are meeting up yet?
Go one tell us you married him and lived happily ever after.....0 -

?
We don't want to spend all day in the pub! We are going to be at the seaside and now we have an excuse to build sandcastles!
Don't forget to pack your buckets and spades
Awwww, (((((Revovering Spendaholic))))), (remind me not to sit behind you on any rides)
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

I am up for that! I cannot drink anymore (alcohol makes me very ill) and LOVE charity shops!

Re meeting up - depending on what time everyone will be getting there - day visitors especially, then i think we can arrange to meet at the hotel at certain times eg 11 am or 6 pm etc. then we can decide where we want to go. We don't all have to stick together in 1 big group all day - we can go off in smaller groups and meet up/swap parties as appropriate. I shall be letting those coming have mine and Nelski's (and Racyred's?) mobile numbers - we can swap others when we get there to make sure we all stay in touch. I'm intending arriving at the hotel mid Saturday morning.

Great, I'll race you to the bargains! I'm pleased that there's another non drinker going, I really didn't fancy sitting in the pub snoring on Squeaky's shoulder through Saturday afternoon, there are cameras being taken :eek:0 -
We don't have to sit in a pub to have a chat and something to eat. If the weather's nice...we could sit outside....sans 'kiss-me-quick' hats.Good, clean fun....MFW #11 2015 £7657 / £88800

Apprentice Tycoon, I won't be drinking either. I'm more than happy to join you for a coke and ice. I'm at my limit with a glass of red wine. More than that and I usually fall asleep! I'm not boring, honest!!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Please take pity on a poor ignorant foreigner: what is a kiss-me-quick hat?
Thanks

This is a kiss me quick hat - it's a standing joke now about British seaside towns and the wearing of them - especially at Blackpool0
