I have spoken to a friend whose fiancee lives in Blackpool - he's going to see what suitable eateries are around. We don't have to do anything 'structured' if you don't want - we could wander (drunkly or not ;)) up and down the front and chance upon a likely looking pub/fish restaurant if that's what everyone fancies?

I think that will be the best plan hun. Just go with the flow.
Mind you we do need to tell Racy we are going somewhere really posh then she will wear her Jimmy Choos (:D bet Blackpool has never seen real Jimmys before!)

I've just spoken to the hotelier. He is quite amenable to everyone using the hotel to meet up at a pre-arranged time - say lunch-time or evening, but if you want an alcoholic drink, a guest will have to 'buy it'. We''l sort out times nearer the event and I'll give you my mobile number as well.

Has everyone booked and confirmed their room? The hotelier said that he has a room for 2 to be confirmed and another party of 3 + 1 child staying - as part of the OS gang. The names he gave me that I can link to the usernames are those of:
    JackieO
    Bargain Rzl
    Nelski
    Racyred
    squeaky
    Caterina

So that I can keep an idea of who is going/has booked etc, can monkeygirl, whitty99 and jordylass pm me to say who you are and how many will e in your party please?

Also, anyone else out there want to come along? He has 2 family rooms left and 1 more person and we'll be up to our 12, so the price will be £18 pp pn :D
  • Squeaky is going to love being with all those beautiful women;) Will he be able to control himself?

Don't worry when he sees my fizog it will bring him down to earth with a bump;) . Three weeks tommorow:D
I am hoping that the weather is kind to us, I'm so looking forward to it .
I have just got back from a stressy day out with my youngest and five children to London Zoo. An hour on the train and two tubes was a nightmare. We all had a good time though.
Hope we don't go anywhere too posh, as I'm a very down-to earth person and I don't do posh at all. Mind you although I am an eastender I don't eat whelks or jellied eels either :D

Moneymonkey and I will meet you guys wherever you decide is most convenient for you all. We won't be needing rooms as we're close enough to travel in.

    I can't wait! :D

Oooh - forgot to ask. Are there any vegetarians or others with specific other dietry requirements? I know kiwichick is a veggie, but if I make enquiries at (suitably priced OS type) establishments, it would help.

Don't worry whitty, we won't be spending a fortune (unless you want to) and please, no-one be afraid to say they don't want to spend over a certain amount - we won't ask why, it's none of our business :)

    Hi Ticklemouse

Thanks for thinking of vegetarians, I am one too! But on very rare occasions (e.g going to the May OS meet) I can have the odd portion of fish and chips!

But for most of the time I really need veg food. I am very easy to please, anything non-meat non-fish will do me fine.

I am on an EXTREMELY tight budget though, so I really need to watch the penny!

    Can't wait!!!!!!

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
