Not only do I not have a bath my shower room is currently under an inch of water where the pipes have finally defrosted after a week and decided to flood the floor!
The stuff is now on the bed! That way I have to sort it or can't sleep tonight!

Hi all - I am in kind of sloth and beaver mode today. Have been on email a lot and on the phone a lot. Was supposed to be having a meeting at 2pm today but the lady is working from home today and we have re-scheduled it for Monday. Have received an invitation to attend some seminars for free at the Spring Fair run by a 4N member Amanda - she is a balloon lady and runs courses. Got chatted up by someone this morning promoting his closeup magic business but things are not quite right with him - can't put my finger on it so I shall be wary indeed. Its foggy and there is still a lot of snow on the ground - fog cleared at lunchtime but now its back with a vengence.

Sorry to hear that you are still ill JP - I admit that my right knee is playing up and last night my right elbow hurt like hell - as though someone was shoving ice cold needles into my bones:eek: - I broke the humeratic head and the radial head back in 2003 and my elbow hasnt been the same since:rolleyes: I guess its the dampness getting into my bones.

Angel - I should have guessed that VA was virtual assistant - I would do that and the editorial work as they dovetail nicely.

Mabel sorry to hear about your pipes - you are sure to get some inspiration soon with regard to work, ebay etc.

Ragz - I have heard that Wikaniko is good (there's a lot of it over on 4Networking.biz) - I think the firm was set up by a lady called Kim Tucker - she contacted me after I had moaned on the 4N forum about a Wikaniko agent contacting me and not taking no for an answer - he was more than pushy.

Poop - I just lost my post!

Becky - if you have experience with babies could you train to do baby massage? I know it's really popular round here but very hard to find classes to do it.

I've been plodding on though a lot of clients have cancelled because of the weather. On top of that I slipped yesterday and needed stitches in my knee. Annoying but shouldn't stop me working.

I'm going to start giving myself goals each month to try and get myself more organised and move my business forward. January's goals are to do this years accounts so I only have to do February and March as they come along.

I can't remember if I mentioned it on here but I passed my post grad diploma in complementary therapies and palliative care - I found out on 23rd December and got the certificates on Saturday. Two and a half years studying was worth it!!

Hope you're all keeping well and busy xx

Muddy sorry to hear that you needed stitches after falling over in this awful weather. Well done you - you never said that you had passed your diploma :j:T:beer:

I could kick myself - someone posted on the 4N forum today saying that they were looking for an events manager to work on a project in West Berks so I said that I would have offered but it is out of my area - talk about being dumb, I should have said yes:rolleyes: Too late now though:rolleyes:

Managed to sort the breakfast meeting out as well so that's all sorted for a new venue on 26 Jan:j

I need to do some goal setting too - I need to get earning because not earning and not having the phone ring is driving me nuts...it is getting to the stage that I am thinking of getting a 'proper' job:eek:

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Night all.

  • Me too Horace - I also turned to self-employment as work situations make me nervous. There must be a lot of us who've gone it alone for the same reason.

Hope your electric has been sorted out - in this weather it must be horrendous having no cooking or heating source. Maybe get a camping stove just in case ...?

    Hi all

Mabel - I was once where you are now - I can remember feeling like disappearing (not doing myself in as I am too much of a coward) but feeling desperate and anxious, I wouldnt socialise or do anything that involved speaking to people (thank you prof - you nasty spiteful little toad) but out of that situation (thanks uni for making me redundant) I began to feel a lot better and then had the confidence to set out on my own - there are still days when I wonder if I have done the right thing and then I think back to those dark and desperate days when I just wanted to vanish and think how far I have come since then - I wouldnt swap self employment for the world now, there is no way that I could go and sit in an office, dealing with twerps. The big fear is wondering how to survive on little money but you do manage as you make yourself manage.

    Hi gang

The electrics are ok now - am just wondering about the chicken fillets in the freezer as the packet is full of ice crystals and hope that it didnt thaw too much (not sure whether to keep or chuck out). Not sleeping much here - I had a dreadful night last night admittedly I went to bed at around 1am because I was wide awake and then couldnt get to sleep and when I did I had lurid dreams:eek: Guess, I am just stressing about stuff..although I did have an opportunity fall into my lap last night..via the wedding and the events diploma and the federation of event & wedding planners I have come to know a chap who runs one of the biggest wedding planners in Europe. I have never spoken to him or even met him but have chatted on facebook and he is someone who is known by one of my mentors. I have the opportunity to go to Gran Canaria in March not only to attend his wedding but to see how he runs his business (I have a friend sorting out my travel arrangements). So far the ballpark figure is £400:eek: but she is hoping to get that down as I don't really care what I stay in but I need to be either in Maspalomas or Playa del Ingles:cool: Also one of his colleagues who kind of helps out but also runs her own estate agency out there has offered to put my details round and about - so I guess I had better type something up.:D Still feeling sloth like though.

Its definitely warmer - we have fog again and there is still snow on the ground but when I woke up this morning it was lashing down with rain:j

Well done Mabel on your order:j

    Have a great day everybody.
