Hi All.
Thanks to those who had advice about my self assessment confusion. After a lot of reading around and asking more questions, I think I understand it now (fingers crossed!). Just need to decide what is fai to put down for my expenses for rent, elec, internet etc (for working from home), then get on and actually fill in the blimmin form! I need to get it done, it's giving me a headache!
I have been intrigued by this thread you're all chatting about, so I'm off to have a look. See you in a few years when I catch up reading it!much work to be done - new sig coming soon...0 -
Thanks for the welcome, definitely Sloth at the moment I think!
Not exactly sure what I can do to be honest. I would love to do something around buying and selling and the internet but not sure what.
Anyway off to continue looking through the recommended thread.

Welcome Julie..shucks I disappear for some lunch and it all happens..I am having a sloth day today.
I guess I am lucky in some respects Mabel in that I have Working Tax Credit and some housing and council tax benefit so I know that I have £50 a week tax credits, all my council tax paid (I am in credit with them anyway) most of my rent is covered by the housing benefit. As long as the bills are paid and I have a bit left over for food then I am ok. I have been told by Central Networks that they will give me £50 for being without power for so long - I think the thought of them being stung for loss of earnings has helped them keep the power on:rotfl:
Good luck with the old tax return Monkey - my accountant is doing mine, I had to give her a gentle nudge about it last week (alright, I admit it was a kick up the pants:rotfl:). I am wondering if I will get a tax rebate?
Good luck on the job front Mrs T and Angel.
I am trying to find out how I become a business mentor working for business link as its a job that I can do that is easy as pie - I may as well get paid for giving business advice:rotfl: I'd still insist on being self employed though.0 -
evening all, ive achieved nothing today as my internet went of at dinner and only just started working again, will be busy this evening though trying to design some new wedding favours as so far i only really have my hot chocolate ones.
also need to look at maybe making some more designs in tiaras, and deciding what discount for orders on the day, im thinking of going for 10% then have to get john to apply that to everything for me, maths was never my forte.
hope everyone else is having a good day?back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
Hey all, yep GA I have been initiated to MSN :-) Hi Julie- sorry missed your post about PM but guess u sorted it coz I've recieved it and Pm'd you back :-)
JP- when I did my wedding fair I did the same and gave 10% off- I did take a calculator tho!
Hi Horace- Well done on your money from the power board and good luck for the business mentor thing- you'd be great at that, you've been doing it for us on here for long enough unpaid!0 -
Morning Gang
"H", I agree with Mabs - I think you'd be awesome at mentoring !
I am quite excited :j I have just applied for a PT position which I am really keen on. Although it's a paye position, it is in a field that I'm very interested in and could potentially springboard me into a role I really want.
While I'm trying to be low key about it (ie don't want to get my hopes up at this stage!!) I would be over the moon to get it.Just keeping everything (fingers & paws crossed) that I get invited to interview
I am beavering today !! I have a couple of other PT roles I'm applying for and I'm just waiting for a payment to come in so that I can buy my domains. I'm struggling a little though with these - I need to prioritise which ones (I've got several business plans I want to pursue) I should do first.
I've easily narrowed most of them down for later development, but I am now stuck on which two of the final four I should choose. One is a gift based, one is editorial based, one is VA based and the other is property basedI've already done a pro's & con's sheet for all four - but they are all fairly strong, just in different ways. Anyone offer any thoughts to help me finalise my choice ?
Hope you all have a good day !!
