Hugs & more hugs JP. At the minute too, I am living literally from hand to mouth and worry constantly about money. Although business is good, and will be good now on the run up to Christmas, my overheads are crippling. I do use my overdraft, I wish it was only £200!
Nzmegs, sometimes I wonder too about customers, this lady is a bit of a mouth, but he was ignorant to her and she was justified with her comments. He claims he said hello to her when she came in (even though he was on the phone and I did not hear him say it either) then when she tried to engage in conversation with him, he behaved like a spoilt child and gave her one word answers. I asked him to lift feed into her car and he said to do it myself and she was mortified and understandably upset. I don't care who comes over the door, anyone who does should have the same courtesy and respect.
I think the paper is a good idea to Megs, anything that gets your business out there and noticed is only a good thing.
Horace, a woman of many talents! Why are you not doing the run? I'll do it, if they have one in NI. It will be on a horse though as the only thing I could run is a bath!
On a positive note, the wee woman who hit the car despatched her husband with her insurance details today, and I now have a Vauxhall Zafira to float about in as a hire car. By the sound of things, my own car will be written off as it is an older car anyway, but I ain't got the finance to change it. Bum. Oh well, make the most of the hire one!
Hope you feel better soon JP - I would claim personal injury off their insurance too - if you are in pain, through no fault of your own.0 -
TCM - I am not doing the run because of having a balance problem and being able to see out of one eye throws me off balance somewhat:rolleyes: As far as I know the run is taking place in the Swindon area...it is something that needs more discussion but the chap organising it is doing an endurance run along the Ridgeway this weekend with a 120lb pack on his back:eek: I am glad you are getting your car sorted out though.
JP - don't feel sorry for the girl that caused the accident..your insurance should sort out the car at least but get yourself a no win no fee personal injury lawyer - I did when I got hit by a stupid twonk and the solicitor managed to get an interim payment of £1000 and settled the case for £7500 and I got all the money - his £3500 fee was claimed separately and he did all that. I had to have MRI scans and see back specialists and it was all done privately and I claimed for bus fares and taxi fares to go and meet with the solicitor and to travel to and from various treatment centres.
Hope you toothypeg feels better soon.0 -
thanks all, my cars fixed thankfully, my insurance got that sorted very quickly as crash was only 7 weeks ago today. i have a solicitor on my case for me, and her insurance company admitted liability straight away, not that they have much choice i was stood still at a roundabout when she hit the back of me, and also a police report saying it was her fault, so hopefully my compensation claim wont take over long either, just with the ongoing treatment it might slow it down somewhat. I had husband in stitches when it happened once the shock had wore of the first thing i said was ill be able to get my new suite now without credit and be able to get the bits i need for work. I jut needed to look on th positive side as weve had the worst year, so im allowed one day to feel low, ill be back up tomorrow enjoying noahs party and spending time with the best 2 people to come out of the last few years, especially as on christmas eve we were thinking what we would do without him as we were told he may have cancer, thankfully the lump was removed and came back clear, so i spoil him rotten now.
sorry im moaning again, its all going to change soon and we will have some good luck, my business will take of and we will be having a damn good holiday.back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
Hiya
Just popping in so you know i'm still alive! DS has been poorly again so work has been on the back burner. DH is working away so I can't risk booking people in incase I have to cancel. He's back tonight so i'm working almost solidly tomorrow and Saturday. I did think about working on Sunday but I need a day off as having a poorly child for so long is getting quite stressful. Poor thing!
TCM - i'd ban you OH from the shop too. It's almost like he wants your business to fail.
JPW - hope your wobble is over and positive, good business vibes for your fairs. You'll be fab - go get 'em!!!
Horace - you make me tired you have so much energy. Hope it all pays off soon!
I had so much more to say but can't remember anything. Sorry but big hellos to you all xx0 -
had a bit of a drama this morning... I had just come up to my office in the loft, which is kind of a partitioned section in the middle of the loft space but it is only sectioned off with hanging cloth walls. Very makeshift but it works. Anyway I was sat there when all of a sudden a bird got into the loft from under the eaves and was flying around and crashing into the walls of my little area. I got out of there as qucik as humanly possible and called my husband.
I could hear it fluttering about fro ages byut by the time me husband arrived (he came from his job to help me...) it had made it's own way out and we couldn't find it. But it had made its way into my workspace and had left deposits all over my desk....
This all took up most of my morning! I am now jumping at every little sound. I know it won't hurt me but i hate the panicked fluttering and they move so quick.
I might have another blog to write for an Australian - have to see if he will accept my price.0 -
lo nz sounds like a verry eventful morning, glad the birds gona and hope it doesnt come back.
im feeling better today still worried i wont have enough stock, but my first stalls only small so im sure i will. went to the dentist and unfiortunatly lost the blasted tooth and need 2 fillings and my jaw now aches as the numbness wears of but at least the pains gone, also i was crying and shaking in the dentists (i really hate the places) and the dentist said i could have the tooth out today then if i go back within 2 months he will do the fillings on the same bill and i can spred the cost, that helped loads as i also needed a prescription as i got an infection in the tooth that came out so my gum needs help now.
got noahs party tonight cant believe hes going to be 4 and im looking forward to it, then back to work tomorrow, the bit i love about self employdness i can have today of to celebrate my gorgeous baby boy.
hope everyone else is haveing a good day i promise ill stop moaning now lolback to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
Hi everybody
Muddy - sorry to hear that DS is sick..I hope he gets better soon.
JP - keep in contact with your solicitor and stress how the pain is debilitating and I would also ask about an interim payment because you have bills to pay and medication to buy.
Megs..I can't stand birds either so I guess your OH will have to block up any holes so that birds can't get in under the eaves. There is nothing worse than bird poop:eek:
I am really angry today because I have missed so many opportunities due to my email problems. When my website was set up my email was supposed to point at a different one and it seemed to work at first but then stopped so I got on to virgin media who were most helpful and assured me that there was nothing wrong. I kept contacting the folks that set up my new website and badgered them until it was eventually discovered that blueyonder accounts don't like other emails pointing at them so won't work:mad: A pop3 box had to be created (I already had one but couldnt configure the stupid thing) so the guys who set up my website have now sorted it out free of charge (pity that their stupid assistant who has since left..didnt do it when first asked, she sent me a rude email about it:mad:). Well, the email now works and I had over 400 emails to trawl through this morning and I have missed so many opportunities for meetings, tours round places, corporate events its untrue:mad: It has been an embarrassing morning with me having to respond to people apologising for not responding sooner.
Still I have meetings booked in my diary so I shall be travelling here there and everywhere, I have also accepted an invitation to a corporate drinkypoos at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and the Banqueting Suite in the Council House but there are others that I have missed out on:rolleyes:
Well I am off to the village now to look for a lairy cardigan for a 4N person and I need to visit Tatco for domestos, sugar (no I am not making a bomb) and maybe a cake, plus a trip to the whoopsie shelf, oh and I need an onion or two.0
