Ally - I grew up in the music business so know exactly what it is like and I have also learnt a few things from you:D Enjoy your dinner tonight. I didnt think that you were being rude just incredibly busy.
Ciao0 -
nice one H! sounds exciting!
We've been working on securing an order from a particular department store for about 6 months now and today we found out we got it! oh my word i can't describe how excited i am by this. The finished suits are going to be in their window display on 5th avenue in New York!! eeep! We ended up taking the afternoon off and having cake and champagne lol.
MM your jewellery is beautiful, things will pick up for you.0 -
Thanks Purpleroses :-)
Wow!!!! Well done you on the order that's fantastic!!! New York, 5th Avenue,champagne... It's a MSE dream lol!!0 -
Well done Purple with your 5th Avenue order - so you'll be in the window of Bloomingdales then? Champers and cake is very MSE (if you got a cheap deal at the supermarket:rotfl:). Well done anyway - its fab news.
Mabel - things will pick up for you - the wedding season goes quiet at this time of year, Spring is when it all starts happening again.
You can tell I am procrastinating again - I am supposed to be tidying the living room and I am trying to put it off:rolleyes: -0 -
Hello everyone! It's been a while since I posted on here, but have been lurking about and keeping up with all your news.
Purpleroses, wow, well done on getting the deal with department store - how exciting!
JP, had a look at your tiaras on facebook (joined your group) - they're lovely. How annoying about your site. Can't give you any advice I'm afraid, as I used Mr Site for mine, but hope you can get it all sorted out soon.much work to be done - new sig coming soon...0 -
Hi folks
Ally - if you are reading then I would still appreciate some advice. Also please confirm that London isnt necessarily the place for a band to be if they want to get noticed? I was chatting elsewhere to someone and they seemed to forget that Birmingham has always been a happening place for the music industry. I am meeting with one of the band members on Tuesday afternoon..its a nice job to fall into after having years of PA experience.
Have spent part of today - sorting out papers (rubbish), I have been to the paper bank too and deposited lots of waste paper, still need to shred some and tidy up some more.
I am getting prepared for a busy week of meetings and I guess I should try and tackle some coursework as I havent touched it really:rolleyes: In fact I shall take a pencil and my coursework with me to Cirencester as I can sit in my hotel room without distractions (not taking laptop) and work:j0 -
Hi all....
Saw an advert on my local gumtree here for an internet copywriter. Job advertised asked for people to write reviews. Have a chuckle and see what came back...
Hi there,
Thanks for your interest in the website reviewer position. We are currently looking for honest people with a keen eye for detail to visit various adult sites online and write the things they like and dislike about each. We will require 12 reviews per week which are due by 2pm EST every Friday.
The starting wage for this post is £350 per week which rises after 6 months. No previous experience is required for this position. The only requirement we have is that you submit a 100-word review of the members area at a pre-selected site. It's completely free to join so don't worry about any costs (be sure to cancel within 3 days or you will be billed).
Please submit this review to reviews@writing-guild.net within 48 hours if you're still interested. This position can be taken from anywhere, it's going to be a home-based position. If this isn't for you we thank you for your time.
Thanks for your time
Pauline Marshall

I'm pretty sure it's some form of scam. It would mean going to lots of adult websites (and by adult, I mean ADULT) then reviewing them. Not sure I'd be all that happy though the money is extraordinarily good.0 -
evening all, im back lol.
Ive been to my mums for the weekend and been to blackpool wich was great, havent been for ages and it was nice to have a family day.
Still been working though just delivering orders and getting orders of my mum, then also getting my mum to make me some flower arrangments for my fair at the reebok wich im going to sell for her, shes been really poorly this year and hasnt got the confidence to sell them herself plus shes on the sick so it might break laws so im going to sell them instead, shes very good though, id love her to quit her job and come and run this business with me. maybe when shes better she will. she just needs some good news from somewhere first.
looks like everyones been having a good weekend as well. Well done purple on your order thats fantastic. horace glad things are going well with the band thing. thankyou for everyones kind comments on my stuff, you all make me believe it good enough.
im watching the peter jones story now trying to find our how he succeded also after telling husband of for buying me nothing but books for christmas i told him i want the 4 dragons books, oops.
mable why things are slow is there not something else you could do to bring abit extra in? i got loads of ideas of the craft board and have made stuff up to take to craft fairs just to see out the christmas season, thats were im making most of my money at the moment.
also does anyone know if i have to change my business name with the people you register with? when i first registered as self employed i registered as divine inspirations but im running as grace and favours and may also name my ballons something different, do i have to register each one seperateor can they run under divine inspirations?back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
Hi JP-no idea on the names I'm afraid, glad you had a good weekend :-) I've sent you an invitation on Facebook to join my page for my website but just realised you had probably no idea who it was from! So, if youve had a invite to a wedding jewellery site its me lol!
Trouble is at this time of year I get really busy at work (I work part-time) so dont really have time to start anything new, ironically if I could get something else going I could give up my part-time job and concentrate on the business but there you go! I need the steady money coming in to pay debts off.
I am working on a new jewellery range for 2010 and I've finished one set. I need to get it photographed now ready to get on the site after Xmas. I was offered a wedding fair to attend but it was in a market in November (and not a nice market at that-it would be bloody freezing!) so I politely turned down the offer to pay them £50 to attend!
i will be doing the spring fair at the same hotel I did the September one in.
Hope your fair goes well and you sell a lot for you and your mum :-)0 -
Just had an idea (probably a stupid one) I usually go through Quidco for anything I buy online (if it applies)
Wonder what it costs to get your company on there? Obviously you pay a percentage but are there charges on top and how would it work?
Told you it was probably daft!0
