  • Morning all..

Thanks everyone for all your comments so far. Sometimes you get so lost in the design and have so many ideas it's good for other people to do a sense check!

nappentass - thank you for your comments and also your suggestion re Benefits / Eco Household etc... I think I'll put another tab under 'Shopping for' that contains the benefits e.g. No PetroChemicals / No Parabens etc.. and add key products under there that may help people to shop.

Also.. re the eco-household products I have some to go on today which are wikaniko products but I'm also looking at ecover - if I find anything that may be suitable for you I'll let you know..

I'm loving all the hair-dye stories. I'm a natural brunette - and I was blonde for about 5 years from the age of about 18 - My Driving Licence (which is due for renewal very shortly) has me as a blonde and I have 'lovely' dark tramlines down my centre parting - very stylish!! My OH says I look like Billie Piper on it - I'm not too sure on that one - but I believe it was a compliment so I'll take it as intended! :rotfl:

However.. my passport which has some life in it yet!! has me with a 'caramel' type hair colour, stoney faced and it is not at all flattering. I'm about 2 stone heavier (if not more on it) and In fact every time I use it I wonder if I'll get through passport control..

I'm now 'dark' brown (not quite black!) and it suits me so much better!! And I had all my hair cut off - and that suits me much better too.. but since I got engaged and we started to think about our wedding - and I mean 'think' I've been growing it - and it's doing my head in. Think I need to go to the hairdressers for it chopped!!

Anyhoo the Wedding will not be for a long time, I have a business to build, I'm also selling my house and we're hoping to buy a new pad for 'us' and then I can think about the wedding - 2011 me thinks - providing no little 'uns come along in the meantime.

nappentass - re your Self Assessment Question. in % terms how much is the phone personal v's business? That's what I tend to work out and then charge that much. I think last time I put 1/3rd - but you also need to be able to itemise the calls if the taxman wants to ask for them (I believe - but don't quote me)

    Hope that helps..

Ok best get back to work...

I have booked my Train Tickets for Olivia's Zamu launch event on Friday! :T

Website finishing line here I come!!

    Have a fantastic day everyone!

  • snow: ecocover is the brand of cleaning products I prefer to buy, but only cos I can get them in tesco and i dont have to go else where for them!
  • Thanks Star - it may not be a good brand to have then??? if people can pick them up easily in tesco - why would they shop at my store for them!

 thanks for the heads up - definitely one to think about..
  • that is true... although some of the people who like to buy eco stuff are more likely to be tesco haters.. if you know what I mean!

    Afternoon everyone!

The mad hair colour is slightly more sedate today, I put a pink body warmer over my black polo so it doesn't give off the same "aura"!!!

I third October being full for work, money and health for us all, Mudbath, and I hope you small person is feeling better soon. Nzmegs, I too feel a hermit only for customers coming in and out I would go insane. I spend my days talking to people about horses and spend my evening talking to the horse about people!

I have a shed load of work to do and absoutely zero motivation to do it. Tell me this though - why is my credit score so low? I looked on Experian yesterday, my 3 accounts (2 CC and one bank) are all green and have always been green, no missed payments etc, yet I have a score of 123 which they say is "very poor". I applied for a personal loan of £3000 (for the business to manage cash flow) and have been turned down. I don't want to keep applying etc to damage it further yet one loan company told me that I had nothing adverse on my file and they only deal with problem people! Any clues or how do i get it back to normal?

    Hi folks

I have been skiving today and spent the day at the spa..chillin..and getting free back massages by sitting in the indoor jacuzzi and outdoor one with the jets on my back...its the first time in a week that I haven't had backache:j Mind you I didnt appreciate the girl who did my waxing saying that she was leaving and wanted me to move with her as the salon she has above a hairdressers isnt so far for me to go. I had to tell her that the hairdresser played loud music all day and it wasnt conducive for relaxation - I used to go to that hairdresser for the beauty treatments and the lady that ran that bit of the business packed it in because of the racket:rolleyes: If she tried to poach me then how many other clients of the the spa has she tried to poach...well, I sat and thought about it for a while and then went to speak the Spa Co-ordinator as I felt that she should know what was going on.

Yesterday, I received an email from the wedding institute - passing on details of a company in Wales who wanted some help with a wedding website, well I rang them and had a good chat and then looked at their website and immediately saw what was wrong with it - it was very dated and way too pink..we chatted about it last night and voila today its been completely revamped and looks a whole lot better.

I also rang up a new wedding venue today to try and arrange an appointment for week commencing 12 October - its basically a private home with farm buildings attached that have been turned into a wedding venue but they also cater for the corporate market - it must be a brilliant place as the registrars were raving about it at the show on Sunday - apparently they are fighting with each other to be the registrar that conducts ceremonies there:rotfl:

Tomorrow I am off out...I have a meeting at 11am (free lunch included) and then I must sort out the prize draw stuff and more importantly sort out my accounts stuff as I need to take everything to my accountant (god help her:eek:) - I need to take it with me when I go and see Brad Sugars talk.

Nappentass I have a separate mobile for the business - just a PAYG phone, its easier that way. If you use your personal mobile then you need to check every bill and highlight all the business calls.

Pinch Punch First of the month and all that.

Feeling very despondent today - although I have posted 3 parcels (prizes), I still haven't awarded first prize and don't actually feel like doing so:rolleyes:

I have managed to re-arrange a meeting that I was due to have with a new wedding venue on 12 October to 6th as I have been given the opportunity to go to Spain for a few days so I think I will go as I need a bit of a tan as my legs are pasty white plus I haven't really had a holiday this year having worked straight through since January and I am starting to flag a bit.

    Not much to report really.

Hope everyone is ok and working hard?

Spose if you do award the first prize then it would be a bit of extra experience? only positive I can think of :-/

I know that it would be a positive to award first prize but I guess I am just feeling despondent and need to think about it some more:rolleyes: I have posted your jewellery set out today and included one of your postcards with it - in case they feel the need to buy matching bridesmaid jewellery.

Best book the flights I guess, I can get some euros from the post office and I dont need to order them neither (its amazing what the little post office down the road can do).

I am supposed to be going to a networking breakfast tomorrow but cannot help feeling that I am the prize turkey. I met the travel consultant at the wedding fair and said that I wanted a chat and then she launched into this spiel about networking and then I found myself agreeing to a breakfast meeting at 7am tomorrow with some crowd called BNI, she rang me yesterday to say that everyone had been told that I was going..which makes me feel even more like the prize turkey. I have a bad feeling about it and cannot shake that feeling off - I think that's why I am feeling despondent.

Horace, not the prize turkey my dear, the star guest! Positive thinking! I am sure that it will be fine once you get there and you'll have a great time!

The funny saga that is my life continues.... I am slowly getting used to the "glow bug" look that is my hair. I have had a day today that has gone in circles and got no where - I am mentoring a young chap who is opening up a similar shop at the other side of the country and he comes up to work with me on a Thursday. Lovely lad but clueless about running a business. All he wanted to do today was stand and talk and was not too impressed when I made him work!
Strange Harold the cat has left home so Odd George is ruling the roost and something I have always wanted, is happening. I have got a cleaner. I always wanted a cleaner. Or a little woman who comes in "to do". It may seem a bit extravagant but as I work 6 days per week, I do not want to spend Sunday cleaning! So she's doing 2 hours, 2 mornings per week and starts tomorrow! I am very excited about having a clean house!!! I've never had one!

Horace, where abouts in Spain are you for? My mum lives out there, and I love it!
