I must be a witch:rotfl: Not much to report today, I did the ad and sent it off, I faffed around, I did some washing up and went to Lidl to do some shopping - I nearly ran over the parking attendant when he was trying to take photos of a car:rotfl: and then this nice chappie gave me his ticket with an hour of time left on it so I didnt have to pay £1.40:cool:, printed off some stuff which I will look at tomorrow and prepare for the wedding fair - bascially what a planner does and what I do for them. I am off to the hairdressers too:cool:

Hi folks - hope you're having a great weekend.

Please remind me never to do a wedding fair ever again = this one was the pits:rolleyes: I wasnt next to the chocolate fountain - I was at the opposite end of the room although I was next to a lady who makes the most divine chocolate cakes and her cake was far nicer than the one's made by the professionals:D

I managed to part with some of your postcards Mabel but not all - without wanting to sound rude but it was chav city. I received 8 entries into my draw and now I need to decide who has won what. Basically I had very little interest and folks were telling me what they wanted to win which I think in some ways is a ruddy cheek - I cannot abide rude chavs:mad:

Still I made some good contacts but not necessarily wedding ones and somehow I found myself agreeing to a guest appearance (it will cost me £10) at a breakfast networking event this coming Friday at 7am:eek::eek::eek: I will have to get up at 6am and put my gladrags on and take tons of business cards..I get a speaking slot too.

I don't think that much work will come from it though:rolleyes:

Oh dear Horace, what a rubbish day for you. Thanks for giving out the cards- it only takes one!
Can't believe they had the cheek to tell you what they wanted to win- bleedin chavs :-(
What are you going to do? Pick out a name for each prize or pick out a few names and match them to prizes.....or then again just not bother ( oops did I say that out loud?!)

I feel very lucky now that the lady who won my draw is really nice and very gratefull to have won.

What a shame Horace - saying that....you now know what sort of events you're going to avoid so that's got to be good. Who knows, you might get one client from it or one from the talk on Friday. It's quality not quantity though from what you say there wasn't much quality at that wedding fair! How annoying that the prize draw goes ahead - in future could you put a 'subject to x number of entrants or carry the draw forward to another event?

I worked for a few hours yesterday but DS is still poorly. I've got people booked in this week and will just have to see how it goes. I hate having to cancel clients but DS has to come first. Luckily it's all regulars this week so they should understand if I cancel.

Right, children to sort out, dogs to get of my foot - she's heavy too!

Hope you've all had a good weekend xx
  • Hi Everyone...

Can't believe how busy everyone has been - I don't feel like I've been away for that long but I must have been!

Horace - Well it was an experience - one I'm guessing you don't wish to repeat! I have to say I'm loving MoneyMabels' idea - Did you say John Smith won! :rotfl:

Mudath - sorry to hear your DS is still poorly

Well.. I'm still working on my site - (I keep saying that!) and it should be finished for later today (I keep saying that too!!) I have to stop having ideas - cos when I do, it puts the launch of my site back.

I have finally added it to my profile - BUT right now it is not officially launched as I have to add more products into some sections - so please forgive me if you have a look - take a peek and there's nothing there :rotfl:

Now... my To Do List for today:
    • Finish this Website - once and for all!!
    • Book Train Tickets for London Fri - Meeting Amazon John & Olivia Newton John at their new product launch: Zamu (which i'll be selling / sharing)- watch out for it on TV :T
    • Figure out what I am wearing on said Friday evening - business suit me thinks??
    • Decide if I can really afford to stay over on Friday and attend some free training on Saturday morning
Right... after finishing working on the site at 2am this morning I'm off for some well earned breakfast then back to it!!

Site has to be finished today, Site has to be finished today, Site has to be finished today! - That's my Mantra let's see if it works ;)

Snow - good luck for your meeting on Friday with Olivia Neutron Bomb, find a way of staying over to participate in the freebie training on Saturday - think of it as professional development. Its all rather exciting.

I think i have worked out who will get the prizes - I remembered who I had actually had little chats with and one couple in particular were so nice (mind you she had the most gorgeous engagement ring and I commented on its beauty - she had been taken to New York for a surprise engagement and the ring had been bought there), I made a particular mental note of when they were getting married and where. I had an idea last night about giving away another on-the-day co-ordination package (the couple live in Barnt Green - v.upmarket area and no chavs), they get married next October and the groom is in the army - I would like to experience a military wedding so I am thinking that it would be a good one to do. The on the day package is worth £300 so one in July and another in October would be ok. I might actually get some business from one lady who is organising her son's wedding..he is driving her to distraction and is his bride, she wanted to know what a wedding consultant did and she was particularly interested and took away some information - she also lives at a posh address. Blimey I sound like a complete snob picking winners by the areas in which they live:rotfl:

I met a wedding planning student who has just finished her diploma and she asked me if she could shadow me when I organise weddings and I have agreed - she lives in Solihull and our areas overlap but there is one thing that most of us have agreed on is that we will all help each other out and will refer couples to each other if the wedding is out of our respective areas, or at least use each other's contacts.

Well I have decided to take part of the day off today - no, I think I may give myself a whole day off (my back is killing me and has been painful since Tuesday) and will go and see the Anglo Saxon hoard of gold before it vanishes to London (where it probably won't come back from).

    Have a good day everybody.
  • Morning everyone,

I love reading up on what everyone else has been doing, all seems very exciting even if some things haven't been going that well.

Well, a little update from me. So my move to the new flat all went a bit wrong, the room i was taking had a huge leak from the roof with damp everywhere. To top it all off the girl i was going to be sharing with got a gas man out who basically condemned the boiler. Feel bad for her as she has no other option but to live there but i was taking my mates room for a few weeks while he was out of the country so could get out of it all.
I'm now sharing with the OH which has been interesting. Lots of little arguments but things seem to be a bit better now.

Job seems to be going well now, they took 2 of us on freelance at the same time and used me extra days last week over the other girl, so i must be doing something right. Feel a bit bad for her as we had been working closely together and now they do nothing but complain about her to me. We'll see how that turns out, as long as i'm doing a good job for them i'm happy. :D
Had since last wednesday off as we're waiting for the christmas designs to be approved before we can start on them. Hopefully it will be this week or money could get tight.
I'm going to be all christmassed out by the time it gets here i reckon!

Also waiting for half of my invoices to be paid which is a bit frustrating as its all done abroad so takes longer, trying to be patient

Quiet day for me again as they gave me no notice of my day off so have no plans. Will be nice to relax before the manic christmas displays start.

Hope everyoe else has a good day!

    Hi everyone!

Been busy the past few days so am just getting caught up now with you! Horace, I know where you're coming from with the prize draw! And the chavs! I had one in here on Saturday - well, a male one - don't know what the male equivilant of a chav is - oh, I could have thrown a bucket of water at him to straighten his face!

My cash flow is coming close to reaching crisis point this week, and I am doing my best but it is a viscious circle. I have my own bills to pay but can't take a wage until I pay the ones for here. However, what will be will be.

On a lighter note - I am no longer blonde. This is because I bought hair colour out of Tesco without my glasses. I am now a redhead. Its fine once you get over the glow.

    Have a good day!
