    That sounds great star-good luck!!!
Hope you're feeling better now Horace :-)

Know what you mean about bridezillas Purple...not sure why I chose to get into this business!!
  • Bridezillas- yes, I know them well- I used to make handmade wedding stationery. To be fair, most of them were lovely, but the odd one..

I have had a pretty non-productive day. Caught up on housework and went to see my horses, who I hadn't seen since Sunday and had probably forgotten what I looked like!

I am home alone tonight, so may have a play with some beads :)

    Hi mills..when they're odd..they're really odd lol

Got my beads today but they sent plain crystal instead of crystal AB so I still can't finish the necklace I started..good job customer is not in a hurry!
  • agh- how annoying. I am still waiting for the very important beads that I need (well I don't need them I am just impatient)

It is always the way- when you are waiting for something :)

I am still feeling ropey and decided to watch the hairy bikers (I am waiting for them to visit Worcestershire), I sort of watched eggheads followed by part of Trust Me I'm a Dealer..I say part because I missed the ending as I was asleep and didnt wake up until about 10 minutes ago:rolleyes: My nose is cold and feels a bit itchy at the back and partly down my throat so I know I have got something..now maybe I picked it up from the Access to Work man yesterday as he spent a lot of time trumpetting into a huge handkerchief, or it could be from the old folks in the jinny ring or even from Webbs when I went the other day:rolleyes: I am hoping that lots of sleep will help.

It sure gets dark early these days too...I hate winter and its approaching fast:eek:

I hope your beads arrive tomorrow ladies.

Star well done on the incentivised trip to Vienna in time for the Christmas markets, however, you can always come to Birmingham we have a massive market over from Frankfurt that apparently brings £67 million into Birmingham every year:eek:
  • Ooh yes, I had forgotten about the xmas markets in B'ham- we tend to make it an annual thing wandering around drinking mulled wine. I don't tend to buy anything as it is rather expensive- still it's nice to look!

I don't buy anything at the christmas market either - it is expensive:rolleyes:

Mabel - I have found a trade warehouse that sells tiaras but what will interest you is that they sell plain tiara bands that you can decorate yourself, I say I found them, I didnt really as I missed them at the Autumn Fair but apparently they were at BBEH and my dressmaking chum (from MSE) Linda met them. Plain tiara bands are from 22p each plus VAT - you have to buy a pack of 12 or whatever and then you have vat and delivery of £6 on top but they dont have a minimum order like some firms https://www.incauk.com - it might be of use to you.

Thanks Horace, I buy plain tiara bands from a normal supplier ( not trade ) for 60p Inc vat but postage is only £1.20!! that's the trouble I find with trade- the postage always bumps up the price.
Thanks for the tip off tho, they have got some good display items on their site.

Mudbath - well done on finishing your assignment - always a great feeling.

    Horace - that's a good prize list.
Weird about the funding - I got an email from businesslink about seminars to get funding aimed at women & large external investment - guess it must vary by region to what's available and how they are.
Do hope that you're feeling better today

Star - what a great incentive for keeping you going

I had a great day yesterday - handed out a load of leaflets - and because the centre I rent the room from is over the shop I was in the receptionists there managed to get me 2 new clients & a taster who has also rebooked as a client.
Also got a last minute promotion day today so will be off in a mo, for one of the other centres I work from - thank goodness I decided to print a load of brochures in advance.
Well better go get scrubbed up & ready

    Have a good day everyone

    Hi Nappentass et al

I am feeling a little better today, I have shut the window vent in my office so that I don't get a cold draught. I went to bed at 1.10am and switched off my alarm so I didnt get up til about 9.15am which was great as I feel as though for the first time this week that I have had a decent night's sleep. Still feel a bit out of sorts though but a good dinner will fix that..actually thinking about it I need a carrot so I had better head to the greengrocers to buy one - its flank of beef slow cooked tonight (or maybe I could do without the carrot?),

I have typed up some referral reward details today and managed to fit two to a page then I remembered that I bought a guillotine from Aldi a couple of years' ago and that it was still in its box - looking at it, its more than a guillotine - there is the usual traditional up and down blade but then there is a separate attachment with a rolling blade that you slide along. Fab it is and the best money I have ever spent as it has taken me no time at all to cut up these leaflets.:j

Next plan will be to type up something about what a wedding planner does and why someone would need one then to that I will add the services that I offer.

Sylvester - the chap I mentioned yesterday from Oz (another FB friend) asked me for some advice as he is trying to attract another shoe repairer to his business and he hadnt had much luck - so I came up with a few ideas such as looking outside his state instead of staying local, trying his local chamber of commerce and even suggesting that he looks outside of Australia - he responded by saying thanks and saying that I was a fountain of knowledge:cool: Horace's advice knows no bounds:rotfl:
