Thanks for the advice on the drains Horace, unfortunately it was the underground drains in the cellar that were blocked and then overflowed. Considering the place used to be a hotel the cellar is ginormous and has about 8 rooms to it, the pipe went in one end of the cellar, under the floor and across to the other side of the cellar with 2 grids and a man hole and it was those that overflowed  (it was a bargain to get cleared though, managed to find someone with out a call out charge on a weekend) Definately going to try the conker trick, those spiders were not happy at their homes being destroyed!!

Everyone sounds so busy and productive, OH's friend turned up last night and we've not seen him for a while so we're all a little too delicate to do anything right now. Althogh I am looking into NVQs, might go and harrass OH about Christmas too then it should end up a productive day :rotfl:

Star - are you translating from German or to German. I was just wondering if you could get a typist and dictate it then you just have to proof read it? Also means that you could pull a few people on to it as they would be typing what you tel them to so you won't know that other people are involved? Just a suggestion

Mudbath - thanks for the voucher numbering idea, I'm still trying to get myself sorted to a system that works for me for keeping track of business.
Enjoying hearing about what you've all been up to.
I got 2 new clients this week for Bowen, but 1 had to cancel because of a family emergency - keep asking the Universe to send more in my direction :)

My DH came up with a good way of numbering the vouchers too. The first four numbers make up the date (mm/yy) and the last two numbers are the actual voucher number. e.g. 090901, 090902, 090903. This means I can see when the voucher was issued at a glance.

I hope the client who cancelled rebooks quickly.

Have you read 'Ask and it is Given' by Esther and Jerry Hicks? I love that book!

Horace - your fellow student must really be getting to you because you seem a very laid back person. I really think when someone starts to suck you dry you have to sort it out for your own sanity. Sadly, i'm not too good at doing this!!! Can you say something along the lines of you're not totally sure you've answered it properly and you don't want to give her duff advice - why doesn't she phone the tutor? Difficult I know.
  • OOO..errr.. just found this thread while searching for 'affiliate' and we are already at 83 pages:rotfl:

    So...here I am....finally.

I'm self employed and the only debts I have are those through credit cards which I use for buying web hosting, subscriptions to dropshippers and all sorts of stuff that is business related through Google Checkout.

I am moving away from selling on-line except for one dropshipping account for the New Age store that I have bought and am still working on.

I trade on eBay but that is looking at a loss most months as my sales income doesn't cover my eBay seller fees.

I am building more blogs and pages on squidoo..I also use twitter and Facebook to promote anything of mine that has affiliate links attached.

My situation now is that I switched to Income Support back in December so that I could spend more time with my daughter who has autism. She has recently left home so am wanting to up my hours but don't have enough savings to cover me for the couple of months with no income while I switch to Tax credits.

So...I am working around 15 hours a week and need to save at least a couple of month's income to tide me over when I add hours to my working week...seem to be going round in circles

Is there anyway you could be eligble for back to work benefits? I don't know much about that but to help people back into work you can sometimes be paid a portion of your benefits for about 4 weeks whilst you settle into work.
Linky with an index on going back to work help, try and find out what you can then ask if you can have it at the job centre, even if you can't get the one you want they may be able to help out with another kind of benefit

TCM - I have tried to send the email but it has bounced back saying that you don't have a btinternet.com account:eek:

I have a plan with my fellow student - I can either expunge her from my facebook account or I will speak to her tutor, to be honest with you I don't think this girl has the brains or even the ability to do the course and I am certainly not going to help her further. I couldnt really give advice on the first two assignments because of their content because I have no idea what she has done with her life other than to clean up after kids and old folks. It is unusual for me to get narky about such things, one of my ex wedding planning students gets me to proof read her assignments and check her grammar and spelling but that has eased off since I pointed her in the direction of the grammar and spell check on Word and suggested that she invest some money into a dictionary and thesaurus. There is a marked difference between the two of them..this event planning one has really started to annoy me.

Martins..why not see if you can apply for working tax credits now rather than try and wait..for months and then apply, or you could at least phone the HMRC and see what they say.

Horace, I have PM'd you the email address incase i have got it wrong but the email is working fine - could I be cheeky and ask you to try again. This business plan is stressing me out something shocking as I am going round in circles and repeating myself too much. I think you are along the right lines with the cling on - she'll never learn if someone keeps doing the work for her.

I like the idea of numbering the vouchers with the date - thats a great way of keeping track Mudbath.

Martins, I would look into the tax credits now and be a step ahead. Its better in your pocket than in Mr Brown's!

    Hi all,
Hope you get rid of the leech Horace...perhaps salt would work..it does for slugs! Seriously though it sounds like she is taking the p*ss asking you to do everything for her, I would def complain to your tutor..it's her/his job to sort her out not yours.
Rang the woman who won my prize draw yesterday and she rang back today to pick out what she wantd ..shes chosen £178 worth of jewellery and she won £50 so that was worth doing! Whilst I was sorting that out another small order came through as well (courtesy of a google search again-am glad I cancelled that wedding magazine ad!)
Am now a happy bunny :-)

Thanks so much for that link. I was expecting it to be just about working for an employer but I found a section on self-employment that I had no idea would be covered:cool:

I have now added it to my 'benefits help' folder on favourites...will have a proper look at it later and make 'that' call
