It won't be my fault if you don't like the book - I am receptive to such things and a lot of it is commonsense really:D

TCM - one day when I have more time and can fit into a pair of jodphurs again (am too fat at the mo) then I shall book some lessons again (my last two efforts involved me being chucked off and landing across a kerb with my head in a hedge and being carted up the beach but I didnt fall off this time). I know someone who gives one to one lessons and she has said that she will build my confidence again (its the dismounting that I hate because I cannot see the ground that well having limited vision in left eye:rolleyes:).

I met the event management folks last Wednesday - have sent the wording to them today and have started my course in event management, I only want the logo for my website:rolleyes: I have updated my website and my facebook group to say that I can now provide staging, lighting rigs etc.

I had a funny turn this afternoon and went very dizzy (i have dizzy spells occasionally and have run out of tablets) so I had to go and sit down, I think its because I spent the morning bending (I keep forgetting I am not supposed to bend down for at least 4 weeks:rolleyes:) as I was sorting out accumulated junk.

    Morning all.

I have set myself a list of tasks for the day.

[STRIKE]Check on line personal banking and shift some money around (done)[/STRIKE]Finish clearing out my office
[STRIKE]Start looking at and write assignment 3[/STRIKE] and start reading ready for assignment 4 - complete exercises in folder too.
[STRIKE]Work out my forthcoming stationery purchases: box files etc[/STRIKE].
[STRIKE]Update my blog [/STRIKE](I didnt do it yesterday).
Carry on reading my thick book on event management (it is really a text book but as it covers massive events such as rock concerts it will be a good tool).
    [STRIKE]Waste time on here[/STRIKE]:rotfl:

Have a good day everyone xx

    Morning all!
I was undecided about buying that book too but think I will now. In true mse style I have an amazon voucher due on thursday so will use that to buy it :)

Think i'll do a to do list as well to keep on track:

    [STRIKE]Update accounts[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Send invoices[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Finish all sample packs[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]call and yell at parcelfarse. again.[/STRIKE]
    get items sent to dyers
    [STRIKE]parcel cloth to tailor[/STRIKE]

That should keep me busy for most of today.

    Have a good day all
  • Morning All (just!),

Just been allocated another four assignments, so they've gone straight into the bookings diary :D

Been virtual job seeking this morning .... seem to spend hours searching, with not a lot to show for it (I found all of two jobs suitable) :(

Well my ickle list for today looks like this ...

    Do appointment phone calls
    Send off completed applications
    Send off Assignment reports
    More searching (sigh)
Start on paperwork shuffle / clearing / filing
Maybe start Ms Meadens book :rotfl:

Have a good one all !!

Afternoon all! I could get used to not working in the mornings! Pottered about this morning, rode a horse, done some ironing then with the BIL STILL painting, I bailed out. Started Deborah Meaden's book late last night and it is very good. Apparently to be successful in business you have to love every minute of it. Maybe thats where I have gone wrong as I do sometimes look at the "half empty" rather than the "half full" so I am going to try to be more positive.

    Horace, hope you're feeling better.

    Off to do some repairs

Greyhoundangel - glad to hear the work is pouring in! That's brilliant.
Moneymabel - you're welcome, hope the information helps.
TCM - I grew up with horses and used to ride every day. My children had lessons last year and I couldn't watch. It didn't help that the riding school we chose had mad ponies! After falling off 3 times in one lesson they gave up much to my relief - it's the first time i've not told them they have to try for a bit longer! I'm such a wimp nowadays!

I had another email enquiry via my website last night so emailed back and they've booked in for a treatment next week. I'm really pleased as i've filled all my gaps for this month!

Hope you're all having a good week xx

Well done Mudbath - your bookings will come thick and fast now! Am thinking positive! So far, although my takings are a bit up the left today (alot of people in but no one buying which is fustrating) I am hopeful of a good afternoon as this is what happenned yesterday. I saw no one til 4pm then was really busy.
Running a "horsey" shop has left me with zero time for my own hooligans and I sold my dopey lump of a cob at Christmas and I had put the wee thoroughbred out of loan to a customer who loves him and I keep hoping she'll offer to buy him and it will help with my non existant personal cashflow. I kept the old faithful connemara pony who is my baby of almost 30 and I would trust her with my life. I so need to get motivated to get her fit for the over 40s games but could talk myself out of it very easily!!!!!!!

Need to read DM's book faster!

Well, done some of my tasks ... but seem to be procrastinating over the biggy

I've also been looking back over some of my product ideas .... Keep trying to tell myself that its all very well looking at em and such - but I need to be able to sell the stuff, which means finding outlets, fairs & preparing a website first
