Hi cheapaschips, you say: "refering to a previous poster, set the resoultion to 208x144, as this will make the files even smaller, also in the dvd decrypter, set it to split up the rip to 500mb chunks as this is helpful due to the fast forward not being very good on the viso1."

Is this in PSP9 - I can't find that particular resolution - should this be done elsewhere?

Okay then what is the conclusion for the best software to use for DVD's to vizo.
  • OK, the way I'm converting DVDs to Vizo is as follows:

    * Decrypt DVD to ISO file on hard drive using DVD Decryptor
    * Use FairUse Wizard 2.4 LE to pick up the ISO file just created
    * In FU2 you should set the resulting DivX file size to be 150Mb per 30 minutes of video (so if you have a 90 minute film set to 450Mb). You should now select a resolution of 144x112. You can get away with 100Mb per 30 minutes, but the picture isn't so good.
    * Go away and do something else for a while, because it takes ages (about 1 hour per 30 minutes of video) to convert even on a fast machine.

    Don’t be a can’t, be a can.
  • I'm so glad I didn't buy this.. I recently picked up a Philips PET320 from Dublin airport for 125 EUR (about 92 pounds sterling).. It's amazing, i can watch my DVDs on the tube now, even one handed standing up.. no annoying conversions, no messing about, just whack the DVD in, play.

It's got speakers on it, plugs into a regular TV so I can watch DVDs in hotel rooms.. it's amazing and a great price.

But that's a totally different thing...there are no annoying conversions to do with the vizo as it accepts divx, avi, mp4, mp3 formats, so unless you're actually ripping a DVD you can just play your files as you have them on your PC.

Plus the vizo came with the cables to play files on a TV also...

I'm finding power indicator never goes above two bars even when charging all night - anyone else now getting this?
