cheers

What do you mean you are going to force it into the usb port???
Maybe I have misunderstood what you said but you must first plug the adaptor into your wall plug and then attach it to the port marked adaptor on the genus. You do not use the usb port on your pc yet. This will charge your genus - they say for a couple of hours.
The led light on the side panel lights up red when it is plugged in.
Only then did I connect mine to the computer with the usb port.
Sorry if that is not what you meant.
Regards
Anne
My son has taken it out so trying to remember.Money SPENDING Expert0 -

Had quite a few of these left today at Southport Dixons.
I have converted a series of a well known sitcom from DVD via VideoShrink to VOB and then via PSP Video 9 to MP4.
I have uploaded the MP4's onto the unit and they are in the Videos directory.
When I navigate to the videos on the Genus, I have a list of the episodes ...
S1E1.mp4
S1E2.mp4 ....
S1E6.mp4
(abbreviation for Series 1 Episode 1 etc)
No matter what file I choose, it does nothing! What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Pretty unit, would be great if it worked!0 -
Can anyone tell me how you change the file system from fat32 to fat please.I did it on my mp3 player last year but i cant remember howNumber 4 due 21st jan0

yes i know, sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but when it's all you have you may as well make the most of it :-) It was a faulty charging unit that was causing all the problems, not the player at all. What could be going wrong between the mains plug at one end and the wee DC connector I have no idea, but something was.
Now all I want is a firmware upgrade to get rid of the time display when watching film and it'll be one of the best buys ever.
Lyns : just connect the device to your pc, right click on it when it appears in 'my computer' and there is a format option, select that and then there is a drop down that allows you to select fat32 or fat. Hope that matches with the operating system you use, thats how it is on XP.
cheers.

Currys are selling this player at £49.99 as well
I brought one today, and was told by the Manager that you get a free case £13.99 and free audio/tv leads £19.99 at the moment as well
We got ours from Northampton, Riverside.
Excellent deal as the unit itself was originally £149.990 -
Good price at £50 ( if you get the leads/ case)
But £150... well its not worth anywhere near thatAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0
