Still trying to find the ideal piece of software to create a MP4 file from a DVD, have download intervideo for the ipod and Fairuse Wizard (the light version). Has any one less found the ideal solution ?

Not sure this is of any help but i read somewhere that if you use dvd decrypter in ifo mode to extract the largest vob file in the dvd ( should contain the main moive) you can then simply rename it to mp4 and it should work. You will need to shrink it ist to make sure it fits (possibly use dvd shrink). Havent tried it myself but worth a try. I presume you dont need to have a precise resolution like i have to with my archos.

If that doesnt work try this program: X-OOM Movies on PSP 2.3.2 seems to be popular. Its not free but you get a 14 days trial.

I hear that staff are saying its 'sold out' - yet when yo probe them and say 'I just phoned Curry Customer Services before I came in and they said you had x in stock', they say 'Oh yes, I remember we do have a few by here'!!!

And then they hassel you over the accessories.

Very disappointed (but not at all surprised) by Currys.

    Hello All,
Yes went back and got cables box and case!!! the guy who served me didnt realise, but one of the other members did know and got them! although, I got the last case they could find and they still had another 4 or 5 machines in stock - so the next person who buys will be unlucky and not get a case.

Many thanks to OP and to all! :):)

Very good spot. I tried to purchase the accessories and the deal didn't work. Does anyone know if the offer has expired?

Good spot though, I did purchase.

    Thanks

i am gonna ask a real silly question..(sorry about this) have you got you power supply plugged in the correct hole cos i have recently bought 4 and they are all fine but mistakenly at 1st my son plugged his in the wrong hole thinking cos the adapter and the hole was yellow and didnt realise the dc hole was for the power supply:o

hehe yeah it is in the right one. Although I must admit i have tried every bleedin one, just about ready to jump on the plug till it's flat and gonna force it into the usb port! so does the led come on the minute you plug yours in?#

    cheers

Yes I did - had to ask though.

2 members of staff (yewts) didn't have a clue but luckily a third lady did - she had to hunt around for the other 2 boxes hidden behind the CS counter.

Also interesting to note that the item was priced £149.99 but the lady who served me was aware that it was all £49.99........

    HTH
