Hi mrscmr,
I have just found your thread here, and am so so sorry about what has happened this week, and want to pass on my greatest wishes.

You will get through this - we got through it a few years ago - but it was incredibly scary at the time - like a rollercoaster with only the down bits...
My OH didnt talk to me for the best part of a week - he felt that he had let us down so badly and loathed himself for 'failing'. I felt at the time that I was holding everything together without his help, which with hindsight wasnt the case - he was just dealing with it differently.

Can you take a day out - take the children out of school for the day and take a picnic, and just be - before looking at everything that you both do financially and work out an action plan. Forget the ironing and the ebaying - they can wait for the next day.

I have an idea is there no one in the family who can help you out at all ? anyone who can lay there hands on some cash to help you through abit as people have said earlier is there anyway you can cut down.... its stupid i know but for a long time i felt blooming cheated i had to shop at aldi for things i felt like i had been duped but it helps out really and most things are actually nicer i just cut cut back i dont but clothes very often only on a needs must......i dont know the a team tune but i feel it appropriate as i swoon in and fix this debt problem....... have you got a 20p with no date on one just sold for 16k on ebay !!!!!!!ooooooooos why wasnt that me ! xxx

why cant you go to hell with shame and embarrassment when you need help you needhelp jon once said oo i dont want people to know we have debt ... i said jon do you think i am embarrassed that i spent xx amount NO why the hell should i be if they think its great that we are struggling wll more fool them because we are fixing the debt not dwindling further so all they have to say is wow big debt in 2 years when its all cash is king they can kiss my boooty... sorry rant over.... its a time when help is required and when help is given from friends and family dont be ashamed they may not be able to help they may be highly upset if you say we struggle for a year and we didnt want to ask they might feel upset you didnt you can only try what is the worst peopl can discuss ? after all this situation will be much brighter come the turn of the year i wish i could help you its flaming shocking whats happened ...im not looking at numbers il play about when i have paid some things off they only depress me and take so much time up when you add up numbers haha xxxx back on liquid diets !!!!!! !!

MrsC I would tell friends and family something... I would alsoo ring national debt line urgently for advice or CCCS or both if you haven't already done so....

actually i feel really ashamed and need OH to come home asap to talk and plan.. but all he will say is we have 'talked'... um i think not!

Theres no shame here! You haven't done anything wrong! There's no shame in something not working. I'm sure OH will open up. He's just being a man & closing down because he feels ashamed & like he hasn't provided. Men are a different bred ...*huge hugs* xx

Hi, how are you today?

We went to see the accountant today to wind up OH's company. Waiting to hear how hard Companies House will hit him as he hasn't been replying for two years!! Men, head, sand - see a theme?

We're going to make him a partner in the new business and that way I can keep his NI up to date.

Three years of personal tax also going in for both of us so we now have whizzy accountancy insurance in case the Revenue decide they want to go account diving - £270 to cover all our personal and business accounts seemed ok as it's to cover all professional fees we may incur during an investigation and that's less than 1 day of qualified accountant's fees. What I'm hoping is we get insured and then it never happens. All the books are kosher but it's the hassle factor.

hi can anyone help? what is an iva? what is one of these debt management co's that manage ur debt? i have heard [only becos i took the trouble to find out for myself and not as OH] that he needs to come up with 50k or else will be struck off as a dir. sorry i dont even know what i am asking or saying. all i know is we have 2 weeks to get 50k and he knew since monday - but i have only found out today. he is not released from his co - he cant get a job. - dont know what to do.
