Apologies to Mrscmr for quick hijack but in Scotland at least you certainly can't do that. You must serve between 2 and 3 months notice and if they don't pay up or leave you have to go to court so it all builds up. LHA doesn't help and approx £5k is for two debts, one with a CCJ (but no money forthcoming) and one will go to court as he only left today. Others are in long term repayment plans. Given current climate, voids and market in this area I'm concentrating on current rents and sweeping up arrears where I can. New legislation means Homeless Departments now must have warning of any pending evictions because between tenant and mortgage defaults they're running out of emergency accomodation so Sheriffs may refuse start refusing to evict even when mandated.

I'm delighted that everything is easier in your neck of the woods and hope you aren't impacted by these changes too.

when i started reading that the iron was eaten by mice... i was a little concerned that the mice in scotland have very very strong teeth.. .but i now see that it was the cable so im relieved!

OH tells me all is quiet on work from with no one speaking to him at all.. great! real progress then ... NOT!

Well I walked to school twice today and took my DD swimming to so feel very virtuous... I am trying to kick thro a plateau in my diet so I can start losing weight again. My son and OH are doing better than me even tho in theory we are all eating the same....

OH is currently in complete non-speaking to the world mode.

on a lighter note i get my new car this week! yeah i hear you all cry... but how? well, but how ... indeed. read previous posts to find that out, cos im too tired to type it all again but i will save money.

It's a happy place here.

1. You only ever see your friends.
2. The eejits keep trying to lick the electrified fencing and that keeps them busy.
3. OHs are available as and when required - Christmas Tree out of loft, Main Fuse blowing and setting off alarm at 3am etc (there must be more - help me out - there's a 101 uses for a Dead Cat for gawd's sake and so far 2 for a Breathing OH)
4. Wine, nibbles and massages every evening from the staff.
5. Automatic ebay - just look at it and it's listed, sold and wrapped.
6. Animals and children all self catering and self cleaning.
7. Guest visits by McDreamy, McSteamy, McVetty, Denny and Co.

Why would I go back to the other place????
