skintgypsy... thanks for popping in.
yes a sad post.
if i knew the truth at the outset then it would be fine. i would deal with it and move on. to discover that i dont know the truth and OH will not be straight with me hurts more than i can say. i am not impressed. today discovered 2 things i wish i hadnt.
discovered them by reading email i shouldnt have [ yeah yeah.. for all u goodies out there...whatever] but its true you should not read peoples email for fear of what you will find.
still dont know why OH not telling me the truth about 1 of the things - was calm, am calm - gave him plenty of opportunity to confess but nope.
and so it goes on...Highest Debt £581,000 Nov 08 and now owe nothing! yes really! I have learnt my lesson the hard way!

Oh Mrscmr I'm so sorry. There is nothing worse. I hate lies, give me the truth and at least have the decency to let me decide what I want to do with the information. If they tell you early on at least there is the intimacy of being in it together, when they don't, regardless of subject matter, it always feels like betrayal.
How important are these lies to you? Are they gnat bites that annoy, ones that materially change you and the family's position or do I want to be here anymore lies? Do you think they may have been done to try and protect you and the kids in anyway - best intentions gone wrong?:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. one of them was told to me so i didnt worry that OH had done the 'right thing' about something.. nothing major just about a phone call that was meant to happen and needs to happen - he told me he had had it and i know for a fact he has not.
2nd is a more personal issue which raised its head a few months ago - went away and is now back due to a stupid text that was sent to OH by a person [not really going into it more here] - anyway i saw the text/email and was hurt by it. i have raised with OH and he has done his v best to reassure me ... but the hurt is still there.
least it can only get better.
just makes me sad when i am doing my utmost to keep home, kids, money, everything ticking along and keeping it together and he is off being unstable and weird.Highest Debt £581,000 Nov 08 and now owe nothing! yes really! I have learnt my lesson the hard way!

I could be trite and say they're all like that.
Got a wee story you may like.
Used to have a very on/off relationship with a chap who told me he was divorced and splitting up from a gf. Technically a bit true, he was divorced from wife number 1 and "gf" was actually wife number 2!! But when this came out it was all going to be ok guff guff guff you know the script. Anyway he told me he'd got next to nothing for the last Christmas, his sons had forgotten, ex-wife-to-be hadn't bothered but he was a man and he didn't care. So being the loving, caring, eejit I am I made him up a Christmas Stocking full of everything he loved and sent the package to Englandshire.
He then didn't speak to me for two months because ... and this is so good in retrospect ... his wife thought he was having an affair and had been pouring her heart out to his Best Friends Wife who lived a mile away. BFW was supportive and there for her, assuring her that it was her imagination. When package arrived from me, Wife rang BFW to say this was proof what a B he was, etc. She then tore him apart. Good bit coming ... as he was also sleeping with BFW she always thought the mistress the Wife was panicing about was her and had been playing it down accordingly. Package meant there were now two mistresses and so she took over where Wife left off. I was blamed by him for causing a row!!
Oh and to cap it all, he now thinks he's bisexual and has added god knows who else to the mix.

I shall try for 47 seconds of smiling next time.
Maybe one or two of OH's nicer toys could accidentally fall on the ebay pile?:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
A no 6 is the longest comb they do - you normally have a no1 close to scalp or no 2 quite close to scalpAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
