or maybe thats WE ARE FINISHED!

It doesn't seem like it now but this is just one chapter in a book of life ending and another one beginning....

You will get through this... everything may be different afterwards - but you can get thro this... you will.

It is one of those choose your attitude moments - try and find something positive to hold onto... don't let this be the end of more than OH's company.... hold onto your relationship, your family and other positives in your life... Your material trappings may change but you may find that you find a new freedom without them....

Some grieving for change and the past is normal and logical after that tho - you need to get on with adapting and changing your future....

    Mortgage-free Glee!
I'm with SH, not finishing just beginning.

This is a huge opportunity to try something radically different. It's sometimes much easier to go in a completely new direction if you've no choice otherwise there is the guilt and fear of new horizons. If fate however dishes it up you may as well ask for a spoon and see what it tastes like cos like it or not things are going to change and to quote the wonders of bu11sh1t bingo - it's not easy pushing water uphill...go with the flow.

You and OH are both bright, intelligent, articulate and driven. The kids are all fit and healthy. Home Counties Family Robinson beckons - can you ride a zebra?

Another one prepared to drag here.

As my mother would say 'Worse things happen at sea'. As the others have said see it as a new beginning. Is there a hobby or past interest that your OH might like to take further and turn into a career? A friends DH has recently turned to picture framing after donkey's years as a sea captain and so far 'touch wood' seems to be doing okay even in the credit crunch. You never know he may be a closet jewelery maker or violin restorer or some other obscure craft that my brain can't think of right now.

you guys are great! what would i do without you all.. just being so supportive and strong. i couldnt do it on my own - i would flood the house with tears [actually im past the tears stage] wearing of wellies would be compulsory!

yes u r all completely right, but when you are sitting in the middle of it - just seems never to end. OH needs to get a job asap - like yesterday. i reckon our money is going to last about 23 minutes 15 seconds if he doenst.

and another question.. how the heck do i tell my very straight and narrow parents?

    i must ebay more tomorrow.
have a sick feeling of dread in tummy i just can shake - on the outside no one would know how i feel.

Must go, tons to do and no time to do it in. Balls.

MrsC - I think routine helps at times like these... focus on the kids, try and get more work for yourself and ebay loads if you can.... and see friends perhaps?

Mrscmr, I have been following just finding it hard to find the right words. You are stronger than you know and you are not alone. Theres a whole community here that cares about you & is sending happy positive kind thoughts to you ... in ten years time what you will remember from this time is how strong you were & how you came through the other side - as a family. Just think how much worse it could have been, had you not already found MSE! You're right that it's much harder to be positive & feel strong when you're in the middle of it, but like everyone before me has said we believe it for you. You will get through this and you will be stonger, wiser and braver for it. *big hugs* xx
