Grrr, my massive reply has been lost!

I think that most banks are great when all is going well but when things change they change! We have just moved to the Black Horse from HSBC (leaving our OD with HSBC) and so far they are great but I am under no illusion that that is because we have not gone OD with them yet! They are making OH redundnant with Garden leave starting next month so we have no loyalty to them anyway!!!

Anyway, maybe this will be a blessing.... wait a sec before you dismiss that comment......a DMP will set you realistic sums for household expenditure so those outgoings are covered first and then whatever is left for the debts is all they can get. I don't have a DMP as got a loan from the BH at staff rates (a month before the redundancy was confirmed!) but everyone on here says that once they are set up life is much easier (and simpler). You don;t have to worry about robbing peter to pay paul all the time as the allowances seem quite generous.

However (deep breath.......)as a poster way up there said that you might not get the school fees allowed in a DMP. Have you started looking for state schools yet? I know that you are on the grammar system out there in Berks/Bucks so there are some really good schools for secondary age children. Even if it was only for the little one and then you somehow managed to use the allowances to manage to pay for the others........... I know that you won't want to do this but it sounds like many of the parents are stuck-up anyway (whilst probably doing an ostrich impression regarding their own finances!)

Hope you managed to get some sleep....will check in later after work x

Hi.....I am offline today..back this evening. Hope today isn't too hard.:)
  • Hi

Sorry you had such a bad night. :(

Even if you don't go with a CCCS DMP it will be worthwhile discussing everything with them regarding school fees, business accounts etc. Then when you are armed with the information you need, you can make a decision on the way forward.

    Hope today isn't too awful.

    Hi mrscmr

    Glad your day was OK.

Nothing too exciting happening here. Financial Advisor came round earlier and is going to e-mail me the names of a couple of companies who buy Endowments so will ring them up when I get the e-mail and see how much they will give me to sell it to them.

Feeling rather tired today. Desperate Housewives is on later so will be watching that.
