Share the fear of Xmas, there's a pit in my stomach when I think how little I have set aside and quite what I'm going to do about it.
Have you definitely decided against the DMP for the time being? glad you got some paid work as well.

dmp - is on hold. really trying to do it our way - quite exactly what 'our' way is i have no idea. mainly involves just paying as normal.
god i am run down... im all spotty this morning and look rough as a dog [sorry dogs]. thinking a paper bag wouldnt go amiss today - least its 1/2 term from tonight.
xmas is a worry alright.
oh god and i really hate the school playground thing... more i have to go there the more i hate it - pretending to be ok when its all absolutely not. feel fake and i despise self for it. i just get in there and get out fast.
happy friday all.. im going to go see what i can do to myself to improve how i look! mmm some hope!

Hi cmr - when you despise yourself for being fake, think of the alternative - do you really want all those people you don't really know (and may not respect) to know your business? And its a struggle to keep "the face" on, I know from my own life, but if you didn't, think about what a pain that would be - the false sympathy and maybe gossip too. I think its maybe for the best, tho without my knowing the people - you should be able to choose who you confide in!
Its not being fake, its being private. Hmm, I think I should be listening to myself, not telling you....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ah poor you, am a bit bumpy of face myself today. Not so's you'd really notice but I know. Anyway, have a suggestion for you. Try an asprin face pack! Apols if you've already heard about this, I hadn't but read about it in India Knight's The Thrift Book. Is truly fantastic, miraculous and best of all, as you can buy aspirin for about 20p, very very MSE. Crush about 6 of them up with a little bit of warm water to make a gritty paste. Scrub onto your face, leave 10 minutes....gets a bit itchy but persevere...damp face again and scrub again. Rinse off. Makes a huge huge difference to your visage. Works as asprin contains salicylic (?) acid/AHAs, component of many an expensive product. Had better results from this myself than many a pro treatment. You'll love it, your face will be smooth pink and rosy and the blemishes noticeably improved. Promise!

hi mrsc and imd
For xmas last year I did hampers as per the special occasions board
I did reindeer gifts, pots of gold all sorts
Everyone loved it more than normal. There are lots of thrifty present ideas on the board
MrsC just think if you don't buy it - you won't need to ebay it in a few months time - think how much time and effort that will save LOL. Alternatively buy it from ebay and sell it on ebay again shortly after ROFL

mrsmcr, you're not fake, your real. Really real..what your're trying to do for you and your family is real. It's easy to slap on the glitz and be 'all that' when life's all smooth and doesn't chuck a bucketload of problems at you. Going for it big time and not giving up and weeping into a bottle when adversity hits is the true measure of worth. Hold your head up high, you're doing 'real' good.

Sympathies on the mortgage payment thing, have walked far too many miles in those shoes so know how you feel.
Half term is not too bad, I have one at college but she entertains herself a good deal, not like when the two of them were young and it was the park/museum/make a mess crafting in the house/swimming while the housework went to h*ll, collapse in a chair at 9pm days. I kinda miss all that.
Glad in some ways though as me old bones don't got much get up and go left.
Looking forward to Halloween and bonty night though, much scoffing of toffee apples and cinder toffee( can't do treacle as causes expensive dental accidents at my age LOL)
Keep on keeping on, am rooting for ya!
