Just wanted to say, that having two jobs and going to uni is going to be difficult. If I'm remembering right, you're going straight into the third year. It's gonna be hard! It won't be at all like college, you won't be spoon fed. You're expected to do a lot of work yourself, and in your own time.
I only work Sundays, and have just finished my first year. There's no way I'd be able to do the amount of hours you are doing (or will be doing) plus my uni work. You'll run yourself into the ground and that wouldn't be good!
Also, I think it would be unfair to your employers, and could possibly make you bad if you have to keep letting one or the other down because of work/time conflicts. If I was you, I'd work as much as I can now, chuck it off your debts, then decide which job works best for you while you're at uni. You can always earn more money once you have finished uni. Time goes quickly!

I completely agree. I have just finished uni myself and i worked on average 12 - 16 hours per week and even that was a struggle with all the lectures and extra work. Its not just a case of turning up to lectures, you will be expected to do alot of outside work - and if you dont then dont expect to get good grades.
Just realised they may have come across not how i wanted!! But you dont want to be getting ill with the stress of two jobs and uni!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Just want to re-iterate what zigmeister said: It is going to be very difficult to work two jobs and do your thrid year of uni.
I worked Thursday evenings, Saturdays & Sundays during my third year but had to stop around April time because I didn't have enough time to do my work- you don't want to go to all that effort getting to uni to not do as well as you could- I'm sure the fact that I worked so much was the difference between getting a 2:1 and the first I really wanted.
Just make sure that you don't overburden yourself- anyway, you will so busy studying that you won't need to go out, therefore you wont need any extra money after rent, bills and food, am I right??:rotfl:Debt free as of 2 October 2009

I have finished my second year which was really hard and I am going into my third year. I think that you should put your degree first and work only one day a week because on the third year of the degree it is going to be hardcore.0

thanks for the advice everyone. I had no idea that uni was going to be that hard.
I'm doing tourism and spanish, though the spanish module, i've already sat through college this year, as they didn't know what to do with my for my language option this year...as it's all just basic. And i done Italian last year, and could only pick Spanish or French this year, which i already have highers in from school. So i was put in the uni module for Spanish (as the uni sends us to the college for languages)
So i know i can sail through at least one module, as i passed it at 73% this year, so just need to do the same/better this time around!
when i start on the 14th, i have that week as holidays from Morrisons anyway, so i think i'll wait till October and assess how things are going, and if it's too much, i might have to leave McCalls.0 -
I don't think anyone realizes just how hard uni is going to be till you get there! Being your 3rd year, you're going to have to do a dissertation (at least 10,000 words) which is usually due in around March which is going to take up a lot of your time (make that all of your time!).
How is the debt repayment going since you have the 2 jobs now?

No dissertation is only if you do an honors year, which is 4th year.
Well i got paid from Morrisons 2 weeks ago, and payed the last 2 months phone bills, so my phone is working againAnd managed to pay a bit extra to my Kays account.
I owed my mum money as well, so i gave her that back.
I get paid from McCalls on friday. Though i will only get 2 weeks pay, as have only been there that long before cut off date
So going to pay off the new look card with that, throw a bit at Additions and get the last few bits and pieces i need for uni.
I need to keep some money for bus fare, as my student loan doesn't kick in till the 21st of September.0 -
Oh I see!

Ended up working 7-10 this morning..wee three hours. Every little helps!
Just came home to get something to eat and get changed, as it is pouring down!
Then need to head into town and go up to the uni with my HND certificate and get them to photocopy it, so i can get my offer changed to an unconditional offer.
Plus need to get my photo took for my student card, and i am going to try my luck and try to get them to scan my bursary/loan letters. Just play daft and see what they do, worth a shot isn't it?!
Cause they aren't meant to scan them till i actually start, but y'never know they might just do it today, meaning my loan and bursary would be in my bank on Friday!0 -

You will not get your student loan/bursary/grant until the uni confirms with SLC that you have enrolled which will be in September.0
